Volcano (Jungle Album)
''Volcano'' is the fourth album by British electronic band Jungle, released on 11 August 2023 through Caiola Records and AWAL. It was preceded by the singles "Candle Flame", "Dominoes", "I've Been in Love" and " Back on 74". The album includes collaborations with Erick the Architect, Channel Tres, Roots Manuva, Mood Talk and Bas. The band simultaneously released a full-length film of the same name for members of their fan club. To support the album, they went on tour in Europe and North America throughout 2023 and Australia in 2024. Background and recording The band wrote the album on the tour for their previous album, '' Loving in Stereo'' (2021), and began recording it in an Airbnb rental in Los Angeles before returning to Studio B of Metropolis Studios in London. Jungle are a British band founded in 2013 by London-based producers Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland. Jungle have released four studio albums: ''Jungle'' (2014), which was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize; '' For Ever'' (2018); '' Loving in Stereo'' (2021); and ''Volcano'' (2023). The first two albums were released through XL Recordings while the latter two via their independent label Caiola Records. In 2023, having worked as the main musical contributor on ''Loving in Stereo'' and ''Volcano'', and a key performing member of the live group, Lydia Kitto joined as a permanent member. Background Jungle were founded in 2013 by Josh Lloyd-Watson and Tom McFarland, who had been friends since they were nine years old and lived next door to each other in Shepherd's Bush, London. Sault (frequently stylised as SAULT) are a British music group that make a mixture of Contemporary R&B, R&B, urban contemporary gospel, house music, house and disco. The project is helmed by producer Inflo and lead vocalist/songwriter Cleo Sol. Kid Sister, Chronixx and Jack Peñate have also collaborated with the project.
