Venice ( ; ; , formerly ) is a city in northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto Regions of Italy, region. It is built on a group of 118 islands that are separated by expanses of open water and by canals; portions of the city are linked by 438 bridges. Venice Kamel Gouda (7 October 1934 – 21 March 2021) was an Egyptian research professor and a Minister of State for Scientific Research from 1993 to 1997. Early life Daughter to accountant Kamel Gouda and his wife Victoria Attalah, Venice was born on 7 October 1934 and received her B.Sc. degree from Ain Shams University in 1956. She did her M.Sc. (1959) and PhD (1962) from Cairo University. Career Gouda began her career as an assistant research chemist at the National Research Centre (NRC) in 1956 and from 1962 to 1966, was an associate professor at the Clarkson College of Technology. Nan Madol
Nan Madol is an archaeological site adjacent to the eastern shore of the island of Pohnpei, now part of the Madolenihmw district of Pohnpei state in the Federated States of Micronesia in the western Pacific Ocean. Nan Madol was the capital of the Saudeleur dynasty until about 1628. The city, constructed in a lagoon, consists of a series of small artificial islands linked by a network of canals. The site core with its stone walls encloses an area approximately and it contains 92 artificial islets—stone and coral fill platforms—bordered by tidal canals. The name means "within the intervals" and is a reference to the canals that crisscross the ruins. Venice of Cieszyn () is a part of the Old Town in Cieszyn, Poland. It is a section of contemporary Przykopa Street (formerly ''Nad Młynówką'') which comprises buildings from the 18th-19th century, many of them with bridges over the course of Młynówka (an artificial canal). In the past the buildings over Młynówka belonged to craftsmen: tanners, weavers, clothiers, leather-dressers and smiths, who needed constant access to water for their craft. It is the area between the intersection of Przykopa Street and Jan Łyska Avenue and the corner of Przykopa and Schodowa streets.
