Venetian People's Unity
The Venetian People's Unity (''Unitá Popołare Veneta'', UPV) is a Venetist socialist and separatist political party. Founded in 2008, the party seeks to represent the Venetian left wing and takes example from Herri Batasuna. According to its website, the party's goal is to create a "synthesis between socialist ideals, the defense of Venetian national identity and the fight for the self-determination of Venetian lands": in this respect, the UPV seeks to "spread Venetism within the left-wing and the left-wing within Venetism, in order to form a Venetian independentist and identitarian left". In November 2009 the UPV joined other separatist parties, including the more mainstream Liga Veneta Repubblica and grassroots Venetians Movement, to form Veneto Freedom. However, as soon as in January 2010, the coalition was disbanded and its independentist core formed a more coherent outfit, the Party of the Venetians (PdV). In September 2010 the PdV was merged into Veneto State, but the ...

Veneto State
Veneto State (''Veneto Stato'', VS) was a Venetist political party active in Veneto and eastern Lombardy. The party's goal to achieve full political independence for the former territories of the Venetian Republic from Italy through a referendum. VS had a handful of municipal councillors and was once represented in the Regional Council of Veneto. The party was also influenced by Christian democracy and social democracy. Both its latest secretary, Antonio Guadagnini, and its former president, Giustino Cherubin, were former Christian Democrats. VS had close ties with Independentist Youth, the Venetians Movement, and, strangely enough, the Libertarian Movement. At the European level, VS cooperated with the European Partnership ...

Political Parties In Veneto

The branch of social science that studies politics and government is referred to as political science. It may be used positively in the context of a "political solution" which is compromising and nonviolent, or descriptively as "the art or science of government", but also often carries a negative connotation.. The concept has been defined in various ways, and different approaches have fundamentally differing views on whether it should be used extensively or limitedly, empirically or normatively, and on whether conflict or co-operation is more essential to it. A variety of methods are deployed in politics, which include promoting one's own political views among people, negotiation with other political subjects, making laws, and exercising internal and external force, including w ...

The group's goal is independence and self-government for Venetian lands and it is a bulwark of Venetian nationalism. Venetian Nationalism
Venetian nationalism (also Venetism, from the Venetian/ Italian name, ''venetismo'') is a nationalist, but primarily regionalist, political movement active mostly in Veneto, Italy, as well as in other parts of the former Republic of Venice. Generally speaking, Venetists promote the distinct Venetian identity and the rediscovery of the Republic of Venice's heritage, traditions, culture, and language and/or demand more autonomy or even independence for Veneto from Italy. According to journalist Paolo Possamai, Venetism is "the strain of Veneto and Venetians toward the recognition of their identity and autonomy". Venetism is a broad movement, which definitely includes Venetist parties, notably Liga Veneta, but also encompasses people from several political parties. In 1982 Goffredo Parise, a writer and journalist, wrote: "Veneto is my fatherland. ..Even if a Republic of Italy exists, this abstract idea is not my Fatherland .. We Venetians have travelled throughout the world, b ...
