Vaughan (electoral District)
Vaughan was a federal electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 2004 until 2015. The riding covered the fast-growing region of Vaughan north of Toronto, Ontario. The riding was created in 2003 from parts of Vaughan—King—Aurora riding. It consisted of the part of the City of Vaughan that lies west of Highway 400 or north of Rutherford Road. Political geography The riding was divided between the rural and urban parts. The Conservative concentrations in the riding can be found in the more rural parts, in the north and east parts of the riding, like the community of Kleinburg. Library Of Parliament
The Library of Parliament () is the main information repository and research resource for the Parliament of Canada. The main branch of the library sits at the rear of the Centre Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario. The library survived the 1916 fire that destroyed Centre Block. The library has been augmented and renovated several times since its construction in 1876, the last between 2002 and 2006, though the form and decor remain essentially authentic. The building today serves as a Canadian icon, and appears on the obverse of the Canadian ten-dollar bill. The library is overseen by the Parliamentary Librarian of Canada and an associate or assistant librarian. The Canadian Parliamentary Poet Laureate is considered to be an officer of the library. This is a list of Canada's 343 federal electoral districts (commonly referred to as '' ridings'' in Canadian English) as defined by the ''2023 Representation Order''. Canadian federal electoral districts are constituencies that elect members of Parliament to the House of Commons of Canada every election. Provincial electoral districts often have names similar to their local federal counterpart but usually have different geographic boundaries. Canadians elected members for each federal electoral district most recently in the 2025 federal election on April 28, 2025. Joe Spina (born September 21, 1946) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. He was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1995 to 2003, representing a Brampton-area electoral district (Canada), riding for the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario, Progressive Conservative Party. Background Spina was educated at the University of Windsor, receiving a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1975. Maurizio Bevilacqua (; born June 1, 1960) is a Canadian politician who served as the 4th mayor of Vaughan from 2010 to 2022. Mario Ferri
Mario Felice Ferri (; born January 6, 1948) is an Italian-Canadian community organizer, activist, municipal and regional councillor of Vaughan, Ontario. He also co-founded an organization credited with helping to force the closure of Canada's largest municipal waste facility, the Keele Valley Landfill. At the time of its closure, the waste facility was the third-largest in North America near the heart of Vaughan, the fifth-largest city in the Greater Toronto Area. The waste landfill site became the centre of a 14-year battle between the citizens of Vaughan and both the Government of Ontario and the City of Toronto government, which owned and operated the site. Julian Fantino
Julian Fantino, , (; born August 13, 1942) is a Canadian retired police official and former politician. He was the Conservative Party of Canada Member of the Parliament of Canada for the riding of Vaughan following a November 29, 2010 by-election, until his defeat in 2015. On January 4, 2011, Fantino was named Minister of State for Seniors; on May 18, 2011, he became Associate Minister of National Defence; on July 4, 2012, he was named Minister for International Cooperation.
