Vattene Amore
"Vattene amore" is a 1990 song composed by Amedeo Minghi, Pasquale Panella and Augusto Martelli and recorded in a duo performance by Mietta and Minghi. The song premiered at the 40th edition of the Sanremo Music Festival, where it placed third. During the festival, it was also performed in an English-language adaptation titled "All for the Love" by Nikka Costa. The song was an immediate hit, topping the Italian singles chart for several weeks. Lyrics The song is a classic piece of love, characterized by a strong vocal chiaroscurism. Amedeo Minghi
Amedeo Minghi (born 12 August 1947) is an Italian singer-songwriter, composer and producer. Life and career Born in Rome, Minghi started his career in the mid-1960s participating in a large number of musical contests, and then making his professional debut in 1966 with the single "Alla fine", with lyrics by Mogol. The disappointing commercial results of the song and the military service took him away from the musical industry for several years. Following a new single in 1971, in 1973 he released his first eponymous album, with the uncredited collaboration of Francesco De Gregori. In the same years Minghi started collaborating as a composer with several artists, such as Vianella and Ricchi e Poveri. In the mid-1970s he was briefly a member of the musical ensamble Pandemonium, with whom he recorded his song "L'immenso", which got several international covers and was his first real success. Daniela Miglietta (born 12 November 1969 in Taranto, Italy) is an Italian singer, actress and novelist. She has released 11 albums in total. Biography In 1988 she took part in the Sanremo Music Festival in the ''New comers'' category with ''Sogno''. It didn't happen, however it was noticed by the melodic songwriter Amedeo Minghi, who wrote the song ''Canzoni'' for her in the following year. Mietta won the ''New comers'' category and the critics award Mia Martini. In the same year she was awarded her first platinum album and the Telegatto as ''best new artist'' of 1989, with the support of votes from Italians. In 1990 Amedeo Minghi, with his talent as a scout, sang a duet with her in '' Vattene amore'', the song that won third place in the SanRemo Festival and has been interpreted into English 'All for the Love' by Nikka Costa. Fonit Cetra was an Italian record label, active between 1957 and 2000. History Fonit Cetra was founded in 1957 from merging two already existing labels: Cetra (acronym from Compagnia per edizioni, teatro, registrazioni ed affini), owned by RAI and previously EIAR, and (acronym from Fonodisco Italiano Trevisan), founded in 1911 in Milan. Both labels had already been popular, thanks to such artists as Nilla Pizzi, Achille Togliani, Natalino Otto and Domenico Modugno. Fonit Cetra continued to use two old names on their records and maintained two different offices, in Turin and Milan, until the 1970s, when the main headquarters were relocated to Milan. Pasquale Panella (born 12 January 1950) is an Italian lyricist, playwright, poet and novelist. He sometimes used the pen names Duchesca and Vanera. Life and career Panella was born in Rome. After graduating from the Istituto Magistrale, he started his career as author and sometimes also actor of avant-garde theatre. Augusto Martelli (15 March 1940 – 3 November 2014) was an Italian composer, conductor, arranger and television personality. Born in Genoa, the son of conductor and composer Giordano Bruno Martelli, Martelli is probably best known for the song ''Djamballà'', the theme song of the 1970 film '' Il dio serpente'', which reached the first position in the Italian charts. He is also well known for his romantic and professional relationship with pop singer Mina, with whom he collaborated as a composer and an arranger and with whom he co-founded the music label PDU. Domenica "Nikka" Costa (born 4 June 1972) is an American singer whose music combines elements of pop, soul, and blues. She also had a career as a child singer starting in the early 1980s.
