James David Vance (born James Donald Bowman, August2, 1984) is an American politician, author, attorney, and Marine Corps veteran who is the 50th vice president of the United States. Vance County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 42,578. Its county seat is Henderson. Vance County comprises the Henderson, NC Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Raleigh- Durham- Cary, NC Combined Statistical Area, which had an estimated population of 2,368,947 in 2023. Vance International Airlines (VIA) was a small US air taxi and supplemental air carrier, a type of airline defined and regulated by the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), a now defunct Federal agency that from 1938 to 1978, tightly regulated almost all commercial air transportation in the United States. The 1990 Pacific hurricane season was a very active season which observed 21 named storms within the basin. The season also produced the fourth highest ACE index value on record. The season was officially started on May 15 in the eastern Pacific, and on June 1 in the central Pacific, and lasted until November 30. These dates conventionally delimit the period of each year when most tropical cyclones form in the northeastern Pacific Ocean. However, the formation of tropical cyclones is possible at any time of the year, as illustrated in 1990 by the formation of the season's first named storm, Hurricane Alma, on May 12. At the time, this was the earliest formation of a tropical storm on record in the eastern Pacific. Overall, the impact of this season was minimal. The Vance Seamounts are a group of seven submarine volcanoes located west of the Juan de Fuca Ridge. Most of the seamounts contain a caldera. They are the southernmost of several near-ridge chains located on the Pacific Plate, stemming from the Juan de Fuca Ridge. The easternmost five of the seven were surveyed using SeaBeam bathymetry. A chemical analysis of the lavas of the volcanoes indicated that the materials erupted from the volcanoes are relatively primitive. All-Blacks Nunataks () is a group of conspicuous nunataks lying midway between Wallabies Nunataks and Wilhoite Nunataks at the southeast margin of the Byrd Névé in Antarctica. Named by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (1960–61) after the well-known New Zealand national rugby union team. Location The All-Blacks Nunataks are to the southeast of the Byrd Névé and the Lonewolf Nunataks. The All-Blacks Nunataks and the Wallabies Nunataks bind the Chapman Snowfield, which lies further to the east.
