Valenciennes Fc
Valenciennes Football Club (; commonly known as Valenciennes, VA or VAFC) is a French professional football club based in Valenciennes. The club was founded in 1914 and currently play in Championnat National, the third tier of French football. Valenciennes plays its home matches at the recently built Stade du Hainaut located within the city. Valenciennes was founded under the name Union Sportive de Valenciennes Anzin (USVA). The club spent over 80 years playing under the name before switching to its current name. Valenciennes has spent an almost equal amount of time playing in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 having played 40 seasons in the first division and 36 seasons in the second division. The club has never won the first division, but has won Ligue 2 on two occasions. Valenciennes has also won the Championnat National and the Championnat de France amateur in 2005 and 1998, respectively. Stade Du Hainaut
The Stade du Hainaut is a multi-use stadium in Valenciennes, France. It is used mostly for football (soccer), football matches and hosts the home matches of Valenciennes FC. It has replaced the Stade Nungesser as VAFC's home stadium. The stadium has a capacity of 25,172 spectators for football matches, but its capacity can be extended to 35,000 for concerts. The stadium is one of the venues for the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. It hosted 4 group games, a Round of 16 match, and a quarter-final match. The stadium was constructed at a total cost of 75 million euros. It contains 2,600 club seats and 16 luxury boxes. It has two giant video screens, each 48 square meters in size. RC Strasbourg
Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace, commonly known as RC Strasbourg (, ; RCS) or simply just Racing, is a French professional association football club founded in 1906 and based in the city of Strasbourg, Alsace. Ernest Libérati
Ernest Libérati (22 March 1908 – 2 June 1983) was a French footballer. He played as a forward. He was part of the France national football team at the FIFA World Cup 1930. He provided the first ever FIFA World Cup assist against Mexico. Club career He started his career at Amiens in 1929. In 1932, the start of professionalism in France, he became himself a professional in SC Fives. He played one season for Olympique Lillois, in 1934-1935. In 1935 he went to Sochaux, but only stayed one year. He ended his professional career in Valenciennes, from 1936 to 1938. He then played for lower league club ESA Brive and was its coach at the same time. A stadium was named after him in Brive International career Libérati earned his first cap for France against Portugal on 23 February 1930, and scored his first goal against Switzerland during his second appearance on 23 March 1930. George Eardley Gibson (29 August 1912 – 30 December 1990) was an English professional footballer who played as an inside left. Gibson was an early pioneer of British overseas footballers, playing in the French Ligue 1 in the inter-war years. Gibson eventually went on to play football in four countries, including his native England. Whilst Gibson played professionally in England and France and played in the Football League and Ligue 1 he was never capped internationally.
