Utahime
''Utahime'' (歌姫) is a covers album by Japanese singer Akina Nakamori. It was released on 24 March 1994, by Universal Music Japan, MCA Victor. It is Nakamori's first covers album, and her only covers album to be released in the 1990s. On the same day, the promotional cover single "Kataomoi (Michiru Maki song)#Akina Nakamori version, Kataomoi" was released. The calligraphy on the album cover was written by Yousui Inoue. The re-printed version includes instrumental versions of the cover tracks arranged by Akira Senju. In 2002, Nakamori returned to her ''Utahime'' cover album series under Universal Music Japan. Stage performance In December 1994, Nakamori held a one-night "''Utahime'' Akina Nakamori Live" show in Parco Theatre, where she performed "Aizenbashi", "Watashi wa Kaze", "Shishuuki" and "Dance wa Umaku Odorenai". Kataomoi (Michiru Maki Song)
is a song written by Kazumi Yasui and Makoto Kawaguchi. It was originally recorded by Michiru Maki as the B-side of her 1969 single . Mie Nakao version "Kataomoi" was covered by Mie Nakao and released as a single on November 5, 1971, by Victor Entertainment. The single did not chart upon its release, but requests for the song on a Sapporo radio station in March 1977 prompted Victor to reissue the single on June 10. , born Maki Annette Lovelace, is a Japanese singer and lyricist, whose career spans more than five decades. After debuting as a folk singer in 1969 with the million-selling single "Toki ni wa Haha no Nai Ko no Yō ni", she quickly shifted to rock music and is best known for fronting the band Oz from 1972 to 1977.
