The Lynndyl Subdivision is a rail line owned and operated by the Union Pacific Railroad (UP) in the U.S. state of Utah, running from Salt Lake City, UT, Salt Lake City southwest to Milford, UT, Milford, where the Caliente Subdivision continues towards Los Angeles. Effective February 1, 2000 (includes a list of subdivisions from the first post-merger timetable in 1998) It was formerly part of the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad and a section currently forms a segment of Union Pacific's Central Corridor (Union Pacific Railroad), Central Corridor. The subdivision is named for Lynndyl, Utah, Lynndyl, a small community along the rail line. Santaquin ( ) is a city in Utah and Juab counties in the U.S. state of Utah. It is part of the Provo–Orem metropolitan area. The population was 13,725 at the 2020 census. The Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad was a rail company in California, Nevada, and Utah in the United States, that completed and operated a railway line between its namesake cities (Salt Lake City, Utah, and Los Angeles, California), via Las Vegas, Nevada. Incorporated in Utah in 1901 as the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad, the line was largely the brainchild of William Andrews Clark, a Montana mining baron and United States Senator. Clark enlisted the help of Utah's U.S. Senator Thomas Kearns, mining magnate and newspaper man, to ensure the success of the line through Utah. Leamington, Utah
Leamington is a town in Millard County, Utah. The population was 217 at the time of the 2000 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.6 square miles (4.1 km2), all land. History In 1871 settlers of Oak City, Utah built a dam in what is now Leamington. The town itself was settled in 1873 by Thomas Morgan. The Oregon Short Line Railroad was a railroad in Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Montana and Oregon in the United States. The line was organized as the Oregon Short Line Railway in 1881 as a subsidiary of the Union Pacific Railway.
