Utah Governor's Medal For Science And Technology
The Utah Governor's Medal for Science and Technology is the highest civilian award bestowed by the U.S. state of Utah in those fields. It is awarded in the five categories of academia, science education, industry, government, and a special category. The award was initiated in 1987 and is sponsored by the Utah Science and Technology Research Initiative and the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Utah ( , ) is a state in the Mountain West subregion of the Western United States. Box Elder High School
Box Elder High School (abbreviated BEHS) is a public high school located in Brigham City, Utah. Part of the Box Elder School District, it serves approximately 1,500 students in the 10th through 12th grades in Utah's Box Elder County. The school's boundaries stretch from Willard in the south, over to Corinne in the west, Honeyville in the north, and Mantua in the east. The school mascot is the bee. History Box Elder High School was built in 1894 at 18 S. 500 E. Brigham City, Utah. Since then, Box Elder Middle School has taken over that building. Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is a nonprofit government contractor owned by Utah State University. SDL was formed in 1982 from the merger of Utah State University's Electro Dynamics Laboratories (founded in 1959) and the University of Utah's Upper Air Research Laboratory (founded in 1948). The corporation has been responsible for the design, fabrication, and operation of sensors on over 430 payloads ranging from aircraft and rocket-borne experiments to space shuttle experiments and satellite-based sensor systems. Fritz Luty
Fritz Luty (1928 – 11 September 2017) was an American physicist. He was born in Essen, Germany, and briefly saw action as a teenager in the German Army towards the end of World War II. He then studied physics and was awarded a PhD by the University of Göttingen. After working as an assistant professor in Stuttgart, he moved in 1965 to the United States to be a full professor at the University of Utah, where he subsequently spent his whole career. Reed McNeil Izatt
Reed McNeil Izatt (born 10 October 1926 in Logan, Utah) is a Charles E. Maw Professor of Chemistry, Emeritus, at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. His field of research was macrocyclic chemistry and metal separation technologies. Early life and education Izatt was born in 1926 in Logan, Utah. His first ten years were spent on a ranch in Sumpter Valley, Oregon where he attended school in a two-room schoolhouse. He developed an interest in geology and astronomy. His family then returned to Logan, Utah and he graduated from Logan High School in 1944. On 6 June 1944, Izatt enrolled at Utah State Agricultural College (now Utah State University). Granger High School is a public high school located in West Valley City, Utah, United States. The school enrollment for the 2019–20 school year was 3,155 with 123 teachers, for a teacher to student ratio of 25.64. The mascot is the Granger Lancer. Alan C. Ashton (born May 7, 1942) is the co-founder of WordPerfect Corporation and a former professor at Brigham Young University (BYU). Ashton worked for a time with Novell after the company bought WordPerfect, and subsequently founded Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah. Career Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Ashton began his work in computer science at the University of Utah, studying computing and music in the early 1970s. In 1977, Ashton began work on word processing when he created a specification for an improved console-based word processor. Provo High School is a public secondary school located in Provo, Utah, United States. It is one of three high schools in the Provo City School District and was the oldest secondary school in the city. In the Summer of 2017 the school district began building a new school. The school was finished in August 2018. History Provo High School was founded in 1912. It did not graduate its first students until 1921. The students originally met at Provo Center School before a specific high school building was built in 1920. The current Provo High School was built in 2018.
