Uptight (TV Series)
''Uptight'' is an Australian music television series which aired on ATV-0 in Melbourne from 1967 until 1969 on Saturday mornings at 8am to 12pm, it was hosted by singer Ross D. Wyllie.McFarlane (1999). Encyclopedia entry for A compilation album, ''Uptight – Party Time'', by Ross D. Wyllie and the Uptight Party Team, was issued via Calendar/Festival Records in 1968. The record was produced by Roger Savage. It features two medleys of then-current songs including, "Midnight Hour", "You Are My Sunshine" and "Day Tripper". Palais Theatre
The Palais Theatre, formerly known as Palais Pictures, is a historic Movie Palace, picture palace located in St Kilda, Victoria, St Kilda, an inner suburb of Melbourne, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. With a capacity of nearly 3,000 people, it is the largest seated theatre in Australia. Replacing an earlier cinema of the same name destroyed in a fire, the new theatre, designed by Henry Eli White, opened in 1927. ''The Encyclopedia of Australian Rock and Pop'' or ''Rock and Pop'' by Australian music journalist Ian McFarlane is a guide to Australian popular music from the 1950s to the late 1990s. The book has a similar title to the 1978 work by Noel McGrath, '' Australian Encyclopaedia of Rock and Pop'', but is not otherwise related. Publishers, Allen & Unwin described McFarlane's encyclopedia as containing over 870 entries and an "essential reference to the bands and artists who molded the shape of Australian popular music ..in an A-to-Z encyclopedia format complete with biographical and historical details. The Groop
The Groop were an Australian Folk music, folk, R&B and rock band formed in 1964 in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia), Victoria and had their greatest chart success with their second line-up of Max Ross on bass, Richard Wright on drums and vocals, Don Mudie on lead guitar, Brian Cadd on keyboards and vocals, and Ronnie Charles on vocals. The Wesley Trio formed early in 1964 with Ross, Wright and Peter McKeddie on vocals; they were renamed The Groop at the end of the year. The Groop's best known hit single "Woman You're Breaking Me" was released in 1967; the band won a trip to United Kingdom but had little success there. Cadd later admitted that their style of music would have suited the US rather than the UK.
