Ups & Downs
"Ups & Downs" is the fourth single of Snoop Dogg's album '' R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta) The Masterpiece''. It is the only single from the album not produced by The Neptunes. Background The song interpolates The Bee Gees' 1979 hit "Love You Inside Out". It has a very different sound with a slower Beats per minute rate that are more characteristic of Snoop Dogg and of the album as a whole. Upon release, the single received some criticisRolling Stone , Music News, Reviews, Photos, Videos, Interviews and Moredue to re-using the sample which had been used only 2 years earlier by Jay-Z and R. Kelly in "Honey" from their Best of Both Worlds project. Because the track contains a sample with an early British sound it became popular in Europe in the first place. In some prints of the cover of the R&G album the introductory sentence of "Ups & Downs" "''Every Dogg Has His Day''" is indicated as a separate interlude that sample from the motion picture "Scarface". However, with or without it the ...

Ups 'n Downs (album)
''Ups 'n Downs'' is an album by jazz pianist Bud Powell, and the last recorded album prior to his death. At the time of recording, believed to be 1964 and early 1965, Powell had returned to New York City after living in Paris for several years. The album has been noted for its mysterious recording circumstances and misleading liner notes. History All the tracks for the album were recorded after Powell returned to New York in 1964 and before his death in 1966. The album's accompanying liner notes written by Nat Hentoff inaccurately claimed it was recorded during the mid-1950s. Powell participated in multiple studio sessions from 1964 to 1966, but most were not issued due to his ill health and advancing tuberculosis. What is known is that drummer J. C. Moses participated in some of the sessions, and that bassist Scotty Holt and drummer Rashied Ali participated in at least one session in 1966. Some of the tapes from these sessions were destroyed. Adding to the confusion, Horace Sil ...

Paul Revere & The Raiders
Paul Revere & the Raiders (also known as Raiders) were an American rock band formed in Boise, Idaho, in 1958. They saw considerable U.S. mainstream success in the second half of the 1960s and early 1970s. The band was known for including Revolutionary War-style clothes in their attire. Originally an instrumental rock combo called the Downbeats, the Raiders were formed in 1958 by organist Paul Revere, and included singer Mark Lindsay. After charting in 1961 with the minor hit " Like, Long Hair" and then in late 1963 just missing ''Billboard''s Hot 100 with a cover of "Louie Louie", the band was signed to Columbia Records, under the tutelage of producer Terry Melcher. In January 1966 the single " Just Like Me"—propelled by exposure on Dick Clark's shows such as ''Where The Action Is''—reached no. 11 on the Hot 100, followed by the consecutive Top Tens " Kicks" and " Hungry", thus establishing the band as national stars. Clark's TV shows showcased Lindsay as a teen idol ...
