Up All Night (radio Show)
''Up All Night'' is a late night phone-in programme broadcast on the national news/sport station BBC Radio 5 Live in the United Kingdom, usually on air between 1and 5am every night. It is also broadcast on all of the BBC's local radio frequencies across England as well as on the BBC's Radio Scotland, Radio Wales, Radio Ulster and Radio Foyle. ''The Washington Post'' once described the show, in its previous guise as a news and current affairs show, as probably the best night-time radio show in the world. History Originally a news and current affairs show with occasional topical phone-ins, ''Up All Night'' was broadcast continuously from Radio 5 Live's launch on the 28 March 1994 until 27 March 2020. Rachael Bland
Rachael Rebecca Bland (née Hodges; 21 January 1978 – 5 September 2018) was a British journalist and presenter from Cardiff, Wales. She worked for BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC World News and ''BBC North West Tonight''. She was known for her podcast, '' You, Me and the Big C'', which was broadcast while she was ill with breast cancer, and in which she discussed issues and treatment of the disease. In the final months of her life she wrote a memoir, ''For Freddie'', which was published posthumously early the following year. Career Bland was born in Creigiau, Cardiff. She started her career presenting news bulletins with the BBC Local Radio station BBC Wiltshire. She then moved to BBC Radio 5 Live, at first reading the news on Richard Bacon's show, where she became the straight talking foil to Bacon on The Special Half Hour Club. WESX (1230 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a religious and multi-cultural format, licensed to broadcast in the Nahant, Massachusetts, precinct. The station is owned by Real Media Group, LLC. Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) is a set of communication standards for simultaneous digital transmission of voice, video, data, and other network services over the digitalised circuits of the public switched telephone network. Television Centre (TVC), formerly known as BBC Television Centre, is a building complex in White City, West London, which was the headquarters of BBC Television from 1960 to 2013, when BBC Television moved to Broadcasting House. After a refurbishment, the complex reopened in 2017, providing a mix of residential apartments, retail outlets, office space, and three studios operated by BBC Studioworks for TV production. The first BBC staff moved into the Scenery Block in 1953, and the centre was officially opened on 29 June 1960. Broadcasting House
London Broadcasting House is the headquarters of the BBC, in Portland Place and Langham Place, London. The first radio broadcast from the building was made on 15 March 1932, and the building was officially opened two months later, on 15 May. The main building is in Art Deco style, with a facing of Portland stone over a steel frame. It is a Listed building, Grade II* listed building and includes the BBC Radio Theatre, where music and speech programmes are recorded in front of a studio audience. As part of a major consolidation of the BBC's property portfolio in London, Broadcasting House has been extensively renovated and extended.
