Unsub Records (originally titled Metamorphosis Music) is an American record label owned by Capitol Music Group and founded in 2014 by singer Katy Perry. History Perry first announced plans to launch her own label in June 2012. She spoke to ''The Hollywood Reporter'' about how the label will be managed: "When this record label does come to fruition, I'm going to try and avoid the things that take away any fighting chance for an artist to have financial success. As people are coming to me with opportunities, I'm thinking, 'How would I want to be treated?'" On June 17, 2014, Perry announced via Twitter that she had launched Metamorphosis Music as a subsidiary of Capitol Records, along with signing the singer-songwriter Ferras. Ferras Alqaisi ( ; born July 2, 1982) is an American singer-songwriter from Los Angeles, California. He is well known for his single " Hollywood's Not America" from his debut album '' Aliens & Rainbows'', which was featured as the exit song during the semi-final round of ''American Idol'' season 7. He is signed with Unsub Records, a subsidiary of Capitol Records founded by Katy Perry, being the first artist to sign with her label. In June 2014 he released his self-titled EP through the label. The California Dreams Tour was the second concert tour by American singer Katy Perry, in support of her third studio album ''Teenage Dream''. Trevor McFedries (born November 27, 1985), is the co-founder and CEO of technology startup Brud and the creator of virtual pop star Miquela or Lil Miquela. Before creating Brud, he was known professionally as Yung Skeeter and worked as a DJ, producer, and director for acts including Ke$ha, Azealia Banks, Katy Perry, Chris Brown, Steve Aoki, and others.
