The University of Kentucky Stanley and Karen Pigman College of Engineering is an ABET accredited, public engineering school located on the campus of the University of Kentucky. The college has eight departments. Sannie Louise Overly (born July 2, 1966) is an American lawyer, engineer, and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, Overly served in the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing Kentucky's 72nd House district. She served as House Majority Caucus Chair from 2013 to 2017, and is the first woman to serve in a leadership role in the Kentucky House. Margaret Ingels (October 25, 1892 – December 13, 1971) was an American engineer. She is known as the first female engineering graduate from the University of Kentucky, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 1916. She was also the second woman engineering graduate in the United States and the first woman to receive a professional degree of Mechanical Engineer.
