The United Opposition was a political party in the Philippines. It called itself the "Genuine Opposition" coalition throughout the duration of the 2007 midterm elections. History Formation The United Opposition party was created by Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay in June 2005 to unite all politicians who wished to impeach Philippine President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo after the revelation of her election cheating scandal. Arroyo stated via her presidential spokesperson that the formation of the party will not be interrupted, as it was a right of the opposition itself. United Opposition (Soviet Union)
The United Opposition (, sometimes translated Joint Opposition) was a group formed in the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) in early 1926, when the Left Opposition led by Leon Trotsky, merged with the New Opposition led by Grigory Zinoviev and his close ally Lev Kamenev, in order to strengthen opposition against the Joseph Stalin-led Centre. The United Opposition demanded, among other things, greater freedom of expression within the Communist Party, the dismantling of the New Economic Policy (NEP), more development of heavy industry, and less bureaucracy. The group was effectively destroyed by Stalin's majority by the end of 1927, having had only limited success. The United Opposition of Serbia ( sr-cyrl, Удружена опозиција Србије, Udružena opozicija Srbije, abbr. UOPS) was a political coalition in Serbia. It was formed in August 2020 as the direct successor of Alliance for Serbia (SzS). The coalition included 11 parties and movements in total, including Đorđe Vukadinović as an independent individual.
