Undy Athletic A.F.C.
Undy Athletic Football Club is a Welsh association football club based in the village of Undy, Monmouthshire. The club's senior men's team plays in the . The club's senior women's team play in the South Wales Women & Girls League Division Two. In addition, there are two other men's teams (reserves and third team), a youth team and a large junior section playing mixed and girls' football. The club has been a chartered provider of the FAW's Huddle programme since its inception, and provides disability football sessions to the local community. History The club was formed in 1947, playing at local level in South Wales and winning the Argus Cup 3 times in 15 years. However, in 1962 the club disbanded as a result of financial difficulties. Undy
Undy () is a village in Monmouthshire, south east Wales, adjoining the village of Magor with which it forms the community and parish of Magor with Undy. It is located about west of Caldicot and east of Newport, close to the junction of the M4 and M48 motorways, and adjoins the Caldicot Levels on the north bank of the Bristol Channel. History The area was first settled in Roman times. In 1996 a stone coffin dating from the 3rd or 4th century was found during building work, containing the skeleton of a young woman. The village name is of uncertain origin. Previous spellings include Wondy, as noted by William Camden in 1610. The manor was an early seat of the Seymour family. Jamie Coombes
James Timothy Barry Coombes (born 27 May 1996) is a Gibraltarian footballer who currently plays for Illawarra Premier League side Coniston FC and the Gibraltar national team. Mainly a striker, he can also play as an attacking midfielder. His cousin is FCB Magpies defender Lee Coombes. Club career Coombes began his career with cousin Lee at Europa, playing for them in their first season in the UEFA Europa League. Despite attracting the attention of several clubs from England and France, Coombes opted to sign for Manchester 62 in 2015, scoring four goals in an ultimately unsuccessful season at the club. The Gibraltar national football team represents Gibraltar in men's international football competitions, and is controlled by the Gibraltar Football Association.
