The album was originally released by Invada Records on 11 February 2009, comprising different cover artwork and the band's then-name ''Malakai'', but was re-released by Domino Records on 19 April 2010. Malachai (band)
Malachai are an English two-piece band (music), band from Bristol, England. They were renamed Malachai in 2010 from the previous spelling Malakai after the band discovered that the name Malakai was already used by an American rap artist. The members of the band are Gee Ealey (singing, vocals) and DJ Scott Hendy (music). Their sound is a mix of beats and samples, drawing on a wide range of influences from BBC Radiophonic-type experimentalism through 'Golden Era' Hip-Hop to 1960s Psyche Pop. History Discovered by Geoff Barrow from the Bristol-based band Portishead (band), Portishead, Malachai (then as Malakai) released a limited edition gramophone record, 12" on Barrow's Invada Records record label called ''Fading World''. Progressive Rock
Progressive rock (shortened as prog rock or simply prog) is a broad genre of rock music that primarily developed in the United Kingdom through the mid- to late 1960s, peaking in the early-to-mid-1970s. Invada Records
Geoffrey Paul Barrow (born 9 December 1971) is an English music producer, composer, and DJ. He is a member of the bands Portishead, Beak, and Quakers, and he has scored several films. Portishead was formed in 1991. He named the band after the small coastal town near Bristol where Barrow grew up. On his intentions in forming Portishead, he has stated, "I just wanted to make interesting music, proper songs with a proper life span and a decent place in people's record collections." Barrow and Portishead became major figures in the Bristol underground scene, which gave rise to many artists with whom Barrow came to work in different capacities. Domino Recording Company, or simply Domino, is a British independent record label based in London.
