Uganda Men's National Lacrosse Team
The Uganda men's national lacrosse team, also known as the Lacrosse Cranes, represents Uganda in international lacrosse competitions and is governed by the Uganda Lacrosse Association (ULA), which is a full member of World Lacrosse, the international governing body for lacrosse. ULA is also fully recognized by the Uganda National Council of Sports (NCS), as well as the Uganda Olympic Committee (UOC). 2023 World Lacrosse Championship
The 2023 World Lacrosse Championship was the 14th edition of the international men's field lacrosse tournament for national teams organized by World Lacrosse. Initially scheduled for 2022, it was postponed to 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament was held in San Diego, California. The tournament was limited to 30 teams for the first time through regional qualifying tournaments. The United States won the tournament on July 1, 2023, in front of a crowd of 15,112, the championship was its 11th in the history of the event. Hosting The Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL), since renamed World Lacrosse, gave its member associations until the end of September 2016 to formally make its intent to bid known to the international sports body and March 2017 to submit their bid. World Lacrosse Championship
The World Lacrosse Men's Championship is the international men's field lacrosse championship organized by World Lacrosse that occurs every four years. The WLC began before any international lacrosse organization had been formed. It started as a four-team invitational tournament which coincided with Canada's centennial lacrosse celebration in 1967. Canada, the United States, Australia, and England participated. Seven years later, Australia celebrated its lacrosse centenary and another four-team invitational tournament was held between the same countries. After that tournament in 1974, the first international governing body for men's lacrosse was formed, the International Lacrosse Federation (ILF). The ILF merged with the women's governing body in 2008 to form the Federation of International Lacrosse, which changed its name to World Lacrosse in 2019. The 2016 European Lacrosse Championship was the 10th edition of the European Lacrosse competition for national teams. It was played in Budapest, Hungary from 28 July to 6 August 2016. Israel Men's National Lacrosse Team
The Israel men's national lacrosse team is governed by the Israel Lacrosse Association. Their best finish was at the 2016 European Lacrosse Championship, winning the silver medal. The Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) is a national organization of non-NCAA men's college lacrosse programs. The MCLA oversees game play and conducts national championships for over 200 teams in ten conferences throughout the United States and Canada. The MCLA provides a governing structure much like the NCAA, with eligibility rules, All-Americans and a national tournament to decide national champions in both Divisions I and II. The MCLA exists to provide a quality college lacrosse experience where varsity NCAA lacrosse does not exist.
