Bharatiya Jana Sangh
The Akhil Bharatiya Jana Sangh ( BJS or JS, short name: Jan Sangh) was a Hindutva political party active in India. It was established on 21 October 1951 in Delhi by three founding members: Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Balraj Madhok and Deendayal Upadhyaya. Jan Sangh was the political arm of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a right-wing Hindutva paramilitary volunteer organisation. In 1977, it merged with several other left, centre and right parties opposed to the Indian National Congress and formed the Janata Party. In 1980, the members of erstwhile Jan Sangh quit the Janata party after the defeat in the 1980 general elections and formed the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is the direct political successor to the Jan Sangh. 2018 Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Election
Legislative Assembly elections were held in the Indian state of Rajasthan on 7 December 2018. The Indian National Congress became the single largest party with 100 seats, short of the majority by 1 seat. The Bharatiya Janata Party won 73 seats, much lower compared to the previous election, in which it won an absolute majority of 163 seats. Girija Vyas (8 July 1946 – 1 May 2025) was an Indian politician, poet and author. She was a member of the 15th Lok Sabha, from the Chittorgarh constituency and previously served four terms as Udaipur's Lok Sabha representative. She was president of the fifth National Commission for Women of India and had published 8 books. Gulab Chand Jain Kataria (born 13 October 1944) is an Indian politician who is serving as the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh since 31 July 2024.
