Obaidul Haque (; 1934–2008) was a politician, teacher and a member of parliament for Sylhet-5. Early life and education Obaid was born on 2 January 1934 into a Bengali Muslim in the village of Wazirpur in Kholachhora Union, Zakiganj, Sylhet District, Bangladesh. He completed his primary education locally, before enrolling as a student at the Dubag Junior High School up until class 8. He then studied at the Ranaping Arabia Hussainia Madrasa in Dhakauttar, Golapganj. After that, he studied at the Ashraful Uloom Madrasa in Bara Katara, Dhaka. Obaidul Huq
Obaidul Huq (31 October 1911 – 13 October 2007) was a Bangladeshi journalist, cinematographer, playwright and writer. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1981 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and education Obaidul Huq was born to Bazlul Huq Khan and Anjuman Nessa on 31 October 1911 at Feni in Noakhali. His father was a lawyer at Feni and a Member of the Bengal Provincial Legislative Assembly. Obaidul Huq did his master's degree in philosophy and psychology in 1934 and obtained a law degree in 1936 from the University of Dhaka. Career Huq joined the ''Pakistan Observer'' in 1951 as joint editor and after the independence of Bangladesh in 1971 he joined ''The Bangladesh Observer'' as the editor. Obaidul Huq Khandaker was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician. He was elected a member of parliament from Chittagong-1 in 1979 and February 1996. Ubaidul Haq
Ubaidul Haq (; 2 May 1928 – 6 October 2007), also spelt Obaidul Haq (), was a Bangladeshi teacher, muhaddith, mufassir and writer. He was the former khatib of the national mosque of Bangladesh. Early life and education Obaidul Haq was born on 2 May 1928 into a traditional Bengali Muslim family in Barothakuri, Zakiganj, Sylhet District. His father, Maulana Zahurul Haq was a notable student of Ashraf Ali Thanwi and graduated in Hadith studies from the Darul Uloom Deoband in 1335. His mother was Musammat Aisha Begum. Haq was the second son out of three sons. His elder brother, Ahmadul Haq, collected old books and was the owner of a store known as the Ashrafiyyah Kutubkhana, which opened in Zindabazar, Sylhet not long after the Independence of Bangladesh in 1971. Khatib
In Islam, a khatib or khateeb ( ''khaṭīb'') is a person who delivers the sermon (''khuṭbah'') (literally "narration"), during the Friday prayer and Eid prayers. The ''khateeb'' is usually the prayer leader (''imam''), but the two roles can be played by different people. The khatib should be knowledgeable of how to lead the prayer and be competent in delivering the speech (''khutba'') however there are no requirements of eligibility to become a khatib beyond being an Adult Muslim. Baitul Mukarram (), officially Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, is the national mosque of Bangladesh. It is located at the center of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
