USA International Ballet Competition
The USA International Ballet Competition, or USA IBC, is one of the world's top competitions for ballet. Located in Jackson, Mississippi, this competition is attended by dancers from all over the world to represent their country for bronze, silver, or gold medals in a variety of categories of ballet in an Olympic-style competition. Founded in 1978 by Thalia Mara, the first USA International Ballet Competition took place in 1979. This first competition was given sanction by the United Nations' International Dance Committee of UNESCO's International Theatre Institute. In 1982, the United States Congress passed a Joint resolution designating Jackson, Mississippi, as the official home of the USA International Ballet Competition. Johan Kobborg
Johan Kobborg (born 5 June 1972) is a Danish ballet dancer, choreographer, director and visual artist. He is most noted as a ballet dancer, having been a principal dancer with both the Royal Danish Ballet and the Royal Ballet in London, as well as making guest appearances with other ballet companies. Following his departure from the Royal Ballet in 2013, he was the artistic director of the Romanian National Ballet Company until 2016. Training Kobborg trained at the Royal Danish Ballet School. Professional career After his graduation, Kobborg joined the Royal Danish Ballet and was promoted to the rank of principal dancer in 1994, following his debut in the role of James in ''La Sylphide''. Zenaida Yanowsky, Lady Keenlyside (born 23 December 1975), is a French-born Spanish ballet dancer and a former principal dancer with the Royal Ballet in London. Early life Yanowsky was born in Lyon, France, where her parents, Russian ballet dancer Anatol Yanowsky and Spanish ballet dancer Carmen Robles, were both dancers with the Lyon Opera Ballet. She is the sister of former Boston Ballet principal dancer Yury Yanowsky and Royal New Zealand Ballet dancer Nadia Yanowsky. Yury Yanowsky (born 1972 in Lyon, France) is a French-born Spanish ballet dancer and choreographer. He was a principal dancer with the Boston Ballet. Early life and training Yury Yanowsky was born in Lyon, France to Russian ballet dancer Anatol Yanowsky and Spanish ballet dancer Carmen Robles, whom were both dancers with the Lyon Opera Ballet. He is the older brother of former Royal Ballet principal dancer Zenaida Yanowsky and Royal New Zealand Ballet dancer Nadia Yanowsky. Sara Webb (born 1979) is an American retired professional ballet dancer and a former principal dancer with the Houston Ballet (1997–2018). Early life and education Webb was born in Dallas, Texas and raised in Henderson, Nevada. Misa Kuranaga
Misa Kuranaga (, born 1982/1983) is a Japanese ballerina. She is a principal dancer at the San Francisco Ballet. She was formerly a dancer at Boston Ballet, and was the first Asian person to be promoted to principal dancer there. Daniil Dmitrievich Simkin (; born 12 October 1987 in Novosibirsk, Russia), known as Daniil Simkin, is a ballet dancer and entrepreneur. He was formerly a principal dancer with both American Ballet Theatre and Berlin State Ballet. Simkin is based in New York and is the founder of Studio Simkin. Early life Mack was born in Elgin, Kershaw County, South Carolina, and is the youngest of four children.
