UNLV Rebels Women's Volleyball
The UNLV Rebels women's volleyball team competes as part of NCAA Division I, representing the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in the Mountain West. UNLV plays its home games at the Cox Pavilion. History UNLV started their volleyball program in 1978 as a Division 1 independent team. They finished their first season with a 10-7 record. From 1978 to 1980 UNLV would remain independent and pose an overall record of 29-23-2. UNLV did not field a volleyball team from 1981 to 1983 but started up again in 1984 as a Big West Conference member. They would only be in the Big West for 2 seasons before again suspending the volleyball program, this time for 11 years. In 1996 UNLV would start up their volleyball program again as a Western Athletic Conference member. Their first season back they finished with a 5-22 record under head coach Deitre Collins. The Utah Utes are the college athletics in the United States, intercollegiate athletics teams that represent the University of Utah, located in Salt Lake City. The athletic department is named after the Ute tribe of Native Americans in the United States, Native Americans. The 2022 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 64 teams that determined the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's volleyball national champion for the 2022 season. The 42nd edition of the tournament began on December 1, 2022, in various college campuses across the country, location determinations were chosen based on participating teams seedings. The 2020 NCAA Division I women's volleyball tournament began on April 14, 2021, and concluded on April 24 at the CHI Health Center Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska. The tournament field was announced on April 4, 2021. Typically held in the fall, this edition of the tournament was held in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic. National Invitational Volleyball Championship
The National Invitational Volleyball Championship is an NCAA Division I women's college volleyball postseason tournament sponsored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and operated by Triple Crown Sports. Its original incarnation ran from 1989–95. After a 22-year hiatus, it was revived in 2017. History The NCAA began sponsoring women's college volleyball championships in 1981, replacing the AIAW as the highest-level governing body for the sport. The 1981 tournament consisted of 20 teams. Dawn Sullivan
Dawn Sullivan (; born c. 1978/79) is an American volleyball coach, and former player. She was named the eighth head coach of Missouri women's volleyball team in December 2022. Personal life Sullivan graduated from Marshall High School in Marshall, Minnesota in 1996, where she was a two-sport athlete in volleyball and basketball and received the 1996 Kaiser Award recognizing the female athlete of the year. Career Playing career Sullivan played as an outside hitter at Kansas State. She was an AVCA All-American and All-Big 12 as a senior as she helped the team make the school's fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. She earned Kansas College Female-Athlete-of-the-Year honors in 2000. In her career, she notched 1,611 kills and 1,258 digs, which rank as the third and fourth-most, respectively, in program history. The BYU Cougars are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Brigham Young University (BYU), located in Provo, Utah. BYU fields 21 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) varsity athletic teams. They are a member of the Big 12 Conference for all sports except men's volleyball which is a member of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.
