UAAP
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP), established in 1938, is an athletic association of eight Metro Manila universities in the Philippines. The eight-member schools are Adamson University (AdU), Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University (DLSU), Far Eastern University (FEU), National University (Philippines), National University (NU), University of the East (UE), University of the Philippines Diliman (UP), and the University of Santo Tomas (UST). UAAP Season 82
UAAP Season 82 was the 2019–20 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The season was hosted by the Ateneo de Manila University. The eight member universities of the UAAP competed in the league's sixteen sport disciplines to vie for the UAAP Overall Championship, general championship as 3x3 (basketball), 3x3 Basketball will now be included as a medal event in the Seniors level, with points counted towards the general championships. The season was cancelled mid-way on April 7, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, coronavirus pandemic which spread to the Philippines by January 2020 after the enhanced community quarantine was extended to April 30, 2020. UAAP Overall Championships
The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Overall Championship is awarded to the school with the highest point total in the different UAAP events. It was first awarded in UAAP Season 10. Member universities currently compete in fifteen sports to vie for the overall championship, namely, badminton, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, chess, fencing, football, judo, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, track and field, and volleyball. The University of Santo Tomas holds the distinction of having the most overall championships with 72 titles wherein it won 48 collegiate division overall championships in the 77 seasons that the title was awarded and 24 high school division overall championships out of 29 seasons. Philippine Collegiate Champions League
The Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) was a national collegiate basketball championship league in the Philippines. Its tournament, known as the "National Collegiate Championship" (NCC) is sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, the country's national basketball federation. UAAP Season 84 was the 2021–22 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). The Season 84 theme was "Fully Alive, Champions for Life" and the season's host was the De La Salle University. With the limitations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, UAAP Season 84 only held men's basketball, men's and women's 3×3 basketball, women's volleyball, men's beach volleyball, cheerdance, taekwondo poomsae; and men's and women's chess tournaments as its events for the season. UST was declared UAAP general champion based on eight sporting events. Only the men's basketball, women's volleyball, and cheerdance were televised. The Home of the UAAP, also referred to as the UAAP Arena owned by Akari Lighting & Technology, is a proposed indoor arena located in Amang Rodriguez Ave., Bridgetowne, Pasig, Philippines. The arena, which will become a "central hub" for the University Athletic Association of the Philippines events, is projected to have a capacity of 6,000 and is planned to open in 2027, in time for UAAP Season 90. UAAP Season 83 was the canceled 2020–21 athletic year of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). This season was to be hosted by the De La Salle University. Eight member universities of the UAAP would compete in the league's sixteen sport disciplines to vie for the general championship. The COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines caused Season 82, which was supposed to end in May 2020, to be cancelled in April 2020. This had to be done to avoid logistical issues in organizing Season 83, which was planned to open in January 2021 but the plan was scrapped in December 2020, taking into account training that is usually held months prior to the opening of a UAAP season and the imposition of general community quarantine measures in Metro Manila.
