U.S. Virgin Islands Davis Cup Team
The United States Virgin Islands Davis Cup team represents the United States Virgin Islands in Davis Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Virgin Islands Tennis Association. The Davis Cup is the premier international team event in men's tennis. It is run by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is contested annually between teams from competing countries in a knock-out format. It is described by the organisers as the "World Cup of Tennis", and the winners are referred to as the World Champion team. Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). 2012 Davis Cup
The 2012 Davis Cup (also known as the 2012 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas for sponsorship purposes) was the 101st edition of the tournament between national teams in men's tennis. The Czech Republic won the championship, beating Spain in the final, 3–2. Czech Republic is the only country except United States and Australia to hold both Davis Cup and Fed Cup at the same time.
