U.S. Bank Stadium (Metro Transit Station)
U.S. Bank Stadium station (formerly Downtown East/Metrodome (2004–13) and Downtown East (2014–16)) is a light rail tram stop, station on the Metro (Minnesota), Metro Blue Line (Minnesota), Blue Line and Green Line (Minnesota), Green Line in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The station is located next to U.S. Bank Stadium, where the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome plaza used to be at the east end of downtown Minneapolis. It is a side-platform station. Service began at this station when the Blue Line opened on June 26, 2004. In March 2016, the station was renamed to U.S. Bank Stadium station, after the U.S. Bank Stadium, new stadium planned for the Minnesota Vikings; for the station's naming rights, Metro will receive $300,000 annually from the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and the team in the form of in-stadium promotions, advertising and marketing support to encourage transit ridership to stadium events. Samatar Crossing is a , shared-use path and innovative urban redesign project in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Posthumously named after Somali-American politician and activist Hussein Samatar, the crossing connects the Downtown East, Minneapolis, Downtown East/Elliot Park, Minneapolis, Elliot Park and Cedar-Riverside, Minneapolis, Cedar-Riverside neighborhoods via a former interstate highway ramp. Mill City Museum
Mill City Museum is located in the ruins of the Washburn "A" Mill next to Mill Ruins Park on the banks of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. The museum, an entity of the Minnesota Historical Society that opened in 2003, focuses on the founding and growth of Minneapolis, especially flour milling and the other industries that used hydropower from Saint Anthony Falls. The mill complex that the museum is within, dates from the 1870s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Minneapolis Armory is a historic event center and former National Guard armory located in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States. Built by the Public Works Administration in 1936, the building was occupied by several Army and Naval Militia units of the Minnesota National Guard from its opening until 1985. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In addition to its military use, the armory hosted sporting events, political conventions, and music concerts. The Guthrie Theater, founded in 1963, is a center for theater performance, production, education, and professional training in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The concept of the theater was born in 1959 in a series of discussions among Sir Tyrone Guthrie, Oliver Rea and Peter Zeisler. Downtown East Commons or The Commons or Commons Park is an urban park in Downtown East, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Opened in July 2016, the park covers two city blocks. The park lies between South 4th and 5th Streets, and between 5th Avenue South and Park Avenue. Portland Avenue bisects the park. It is adjacent to U.S. Bank Stadium and the stadium's Metro Transit station. Owned by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, the park is leased to and operated by the city of Minneapolis. The city agreed to give the Minnesota Vikings free use of the park. This agreement is the subject of a current lawsuit, and in May 2018, a Hennepin County judge ruled that the Park Board, rather than Minneapolis, has sole authority to operate the park.
