Wild Soul
Moldova was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with the song "Wild Soul" written by Ivan Aculov and Lidia Scarlat. The song was performed by Cristina Scarlat. The Moldovan broadcaster TeleRadio-Moldova (TRM) organised the national final ''O melodie pentru Europa 2014'' in order to select the Moldovan entry for the 2014 contest in Copenhagen, Denmark. 64 entries competed to represent Moldova in Copenhagen, with 24 being shortlisted to participate in the televised national final after auditioning in front of a jury panel. After two semi-finals and a final which took place in March 2014, "Wild Soul" performed by Cristina Scarlat emerged as the winner after gaining the most points following the combination of votes from a jury panel and a public televote. Moldova was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 6 May 2014. Maraaya are a Slovenian duo founded by Marjetka Vovk and Aleš Vovk (Raay) in 2014. The group's name is a combination of its members' names, while its pronunciation means "She has Raay" in Slovene. Melodifestivalen 2016 was the 56th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen, which selected Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The competition was organised by (SVT) and took place over the six-week period between 6 February and 12 March 2016. For the 15th consecutive year, the format of the competition consisted of six shows: four heat rounds, a second-chance round and a final. The 28 competing entries were divided into four heats, with seven compositions in each. Olga Țîra (born 1 August 1988), known professionally as Olia Tira or Flux Light, is a Moldova, Moldovan singer. Early life Tira was born in 1988 into a Soviet Union, Soviet military family in Potsdam, East Germany. She spent a few years there and moved to Chișinău.
