Two's Company (musical)
''Two's Company'' is a musical revue with principal sketches by Charles Sherman and Peter DeVries, principal lyrics by Ogden Nash and Sammy Cahn, and principal music by Vernon Duke. The evening consisted of a series of show business-themed comedy sketches and song-and-dance routines tailored for the talents of its centerpiece, Bette Davis, who accepted the challenge of an eight-shows-a-week schedule when good film roles failed to follow her triumph in '' All About Eve''. The out-of-town tryout opened at the Shubert Theatre in Detroit on October 19, 1952. In the middle of the third chorus of her first song, an overworked Davis collapsed. From there the show moved to Pittsburgh, where it was met with less enthusiasm, and the creative team began ...

Produced by London Weekend Television for the ITV Network, the programme starred Elaine Stritch and Donald Sinden. Premise Dorothy McNab is an American author residing in London. As she spends most of her days writing, she hires an English butler, Robert Hiller, to help run her Chelsea home. Much of the comedy stems from the banter between the two, as they continually disagree due to their cultural differences and often try to outwit each other. History ''Two's Company'' was created by Bill MacIlwraith, who also wrote all of the episodes. Although the first and second series were not simulcast nationally in the UK, the third and fourth series were shown in a primetime Sunday evening slot by all ITV stations. ''Two's Company'' is an album by trumpeter/bandleader Maynard Ferguson and vocalist Chris Connor featuring tracks recorded in late 1960 and early 1961 which was originally released on the Roulette label.Mercado, I. SThe Chris Connor Bio-Discography: Atlantic Period accessed February 8, 2017 Reception The contemporaneous ''DownBeat'' reviewer criticized some of the arrangements and wrote that "Connor runs into a bit of intonation trouble on "The Wind"". AllMusic reviewer Scott Yanow stated "Although Ferguson gets to throw in some high-register blasts now and then, his orchestra is mostly used as a prop behind Connor.
