Turkmen Museum Of Fine Arts
The Museum of Fine Arts is an art museum in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. It was founded in 1927 by Russian sculptor A.A Karelin and in 1939 it attained the status of the Museum of Fine Arts. The museum has more than 6,000 works in its collection, including paintings, sculptures, jewellery, costumes and graphic works by Turkmen, Russian and foreign artists. Ashgabat
Ashgabat (Turkmen language, Turkmen: ''Aşgabat'') is the capital city, capital and largest city of Turkmenistan. It lies between the Karakum Desert and the Kopet Dag, Kopetdag mountain range in Central Asia, approximately 50 km (30 mi) away from the Iran-Turkmenistan border. The city has a population of 1,030,063 (2022 census). The city was founded in 1881 on the basis of an Ahal Teke (Turkmen tribe), Teke tribal village, and made the capital of the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic in 1924 when it was known as Poltoratsk. Lonely Planet is a travel guide book publisher. Founded in Australia in 1973, the company has printed over 150 million books. History 20th century Lonely Planet was founded by married couple Maureen Wheeler, Maureen and Tony Wheeler. In 1972, they embarked on an overland trip through Europe and Asia to Australia following the route of the Oxford and Cambridge Far Eastern Expedition. The company name originates from the Mondegreen, misheard "lovely planet" in a song written by Matthew Moore. Ivan Cherinko
Ivan Ivanovich Cherinko (, 1908–1948) was a Ukrainian artist who moved to Turkmenistan, after visiting Ashgabat in 1933 and finding the city beautiful and picturesque. He was among the Russian-trained artists who came to Turkmenistan and created works of art the captured the nature and culture of the republic. He founded the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan in the 1930s and co-founded the Sh. Rustaveli Turkmen Art School. In 1945, he was named an Honored Art Worker of the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic (Turkmen SSR, 1925–1991). Durdy Bayramov
Durdy Bayramov (, Дурды Байрамов; 14 April 1938 – 14 February 2014) was a Turkmen academician and artist who was awarded the highest honorary title in his country: "People's Artist of Turkmen SSR". In his native Turkmen language, Durdy Bayramov's name is simply "Durdy Bayram" (without the Slavic-style "ov" suffix added to Russify names during the Soviet era). The name "Bayram" means "celebration" in Turkic languages. Byashim Yusupovich Nurali (1900–1965) was a Turkmen primitive painter active during Soviet times. One of the first Turkmen painters, he was killed in an air crash. Nurali was also an art teacher. Husein Huseinov
Husein Huseinov (born 22 September 1951 in Ashgabat) is a Turkmen painter and art director in films. Biography In 1977 he graduated from the Art Faculty of the All-Union State Institute for Cinematography in Moscow. In 1982 he joined the USSR Union of Artists and from 1992 regularly appeared on the artistic scene in Baku, Azerbaijan. In the late 1990s he attained a scholarship and moved to Innsbruck, Austria. He currently resides in his native city of Ashgabat. Huseinov has also worked on more than ten films and theatrical productions. Style Huseinov is primarily a landscape painter depicting the desert and vast steppes of his native Turkmenistan alternating between abstract and figurative representations of this landscape and the human beings living in it. Amangeldy Hydyr
Amangeldy Hydyr (born 1951 in Arapjik, Balkan Province, Turkmenistan) is a Turkmenistani painter. Hydyr's works are noted for originality and mainly focus on the nature and ancient history of Turkmenistan. Trees and bushes, birds and animals and stonework are common features. His works have been described as having a "style, softness of color spectrum and peculiar individuality of perception of the outer world". Hydyr became a member of Painters Union of Turkmenistan in 1988 and regularly displays his artwork in international expositions. His work is particularly appreciated in Moscow where he has taken part in many exhibitions including his artwork "My Turkmenistan" (1997) and "In the Karakym desert" (1998). Izzat Klychev
Izzat Nazarovich Klychev (10 October 1923 – 12 January 2006) was a Soviet and Turkmen painter, incumbent member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR and honorary corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Arts. Biography Early years Klychev was born on October 10, 1923, in the village of Yalkim in the Bayram-Ali region of Turkmenistan. Izzat's father Annaklych, a mullah, was an educated man and enlightened teacher who taught children a working model of the solar system with a rotation around the Earth and the moon. In 1933, ten-year-old Izzat was sent to exile from Turkmenistan to northern Kazakhstan, along with his family. Izzat's mother and father perished in the labor camp in front of his eyes.
