Turkish Women's Volleyball Cup
The Turkish Women's Volleyball Cup (), is a national cup for professional women's volleyball in Turkey, organized by the Turkish Volleyball Federation since the 1994-95 season. Between 2003 and 2008, the event was not held five consecutive seasons. The cup was sponsored in 2012-13 season by Teledünya, a digital cable TV and internet service owned by Türksat. Most successful teams of the Turkish Women's Volleyball Cup are Eczacıbaşı and Vakıfbank with nine titles. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the program at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball. Kim Yeon-koung
Kim Yeon-koung (, ; born 26 February 1988) is a Korean people, South Korean professional volleyball player and a former member of the FIVB Athletes' Commission. She is an outside hitter and the former captain of the South Korea women's national volleyball team, South Korean National Team. She announced her retirement from the national team in August 2021. Kim signed a three-year contract with Fenerbahçe in 2011 after playing for Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders, Heungkuk Life in South Korea for four seasons and JT Marvelous in Japan for two seasons. Efeler Ligi, known for sponsorship reasons as AXA Sigorta Efeler Ligi, is the highest professional men's volleyball league in Turkey. It is run by the Turkish Volleyball Federation. Melissa Teresa Vargas Abreu (born 16 October 1999 in Cienfuegos, Cuba) is a Cuban-born Turkish volleyball player, who plays for Fenerbahçe Opet and the Turkey women's national volleyball team. She was a member of the Cuba women's national volleyball team and was part of the national team at the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Italy. Jordan Mackenzie Thompson (born May 5, 1997) is an American volleyball player for the United States women's national volleyball team and LOVB Pro team LOVB Houston. Thompson played collegiate volleyball with the University of Cincinnati Bearcats from 2015 to 2019. Thompson won gold with the national team at the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Isabelle Haak (born 11 July 1999) is a Swedish volleyball player who plays as an opposite for the Italian club Imoco Volley Conegliano Conegliano and the Sweden national team.
