Turkish Democratic Party Of Kosovo
The Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (, ) is a political party in Kosovo that represents the Turkish minority. It is led by Mahir Yağcılar, the Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning in the Thaçi-led government. It was founded as Turkish Democratic Union (''Türk Demokratik Birliği'') on 19 July 1990 in Prizren and changed its name to the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo on 20 June 2001 under UNMIK. The party's seat is in Prizren and has Mamuša as a stronghold. At the 2004 legislative elections, the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo won 1.2% of the popular vote and 3 out of 120 seats. Kosovo, officially the Republic of Kosovo, is a landlocked country in Southeast Europe with partial diplomatic recognition. 2025 Kosovan Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo on 9 February 2025 to elect the 120 members of the Assembly. No party won a majority of seats, with the Vetëvendosje party of Prime Minister Albin Kurti remaining the largest party. Background In the 2021 elections, Lëvizja Vetëvendosje (LVV) won 58 seats. The results were a landslide victory for Vetëvendosje led by Albin Kurti and its coalition partner, Vjosa Osmani, former speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, parliament of Kosovo. Parliamentary elections were held in Kosovo on 6 October 2019. The main opposition parties received the most votes, led by Vetëvendosje and the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). Vetëvendosje leader Albin Kurti became Prime Minister, forming a governing coalition with the LDK on an anti-corruption platform.
