Turkey Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Turkish men's national ice hockey team is the national ice hockey team of Turkey, and is controlled by the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation (, TBHF), a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. It is currently ranked 42nd in the IIHF World Ranking. History In 2014, the Turkish Ice Hockey Federation caused a scandal as a foreigner wearing Turkish national jersey played in a friendly international match. Denis Legersky from Slovakia, who plays since three and a half years in Turkey and is currently a member of İzmir BB GSK, was registered in the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina national ice hockey team as a coach–player. Turkish Ice Hockey Federation
Türkiye Ice Hockey Federation (, TBHF) is the governing body of the ice hockey sport in Turkey. It was established in 1991 as the Turkish Ice Sports Federation (, TBSF). It is a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since May 1, 1991. The TBHF is based in Ankara and its current chairman is Orhan Duman. TBHF conducts seven ice hockey leagues for men's and women's. The federation organizes also the national teams for Turkish men's national ice hockey team, men's, Turkey men's national junior ice hockey team, men's junior, Turkey men's national under-18 ice hockey team, men's U-18 and Turkish women's national ice hockey team, women's. Ice hockey tournaments have been staged at the Olympic Games since 1920. The men's tournament was introduced at the 1920 Summer Olympics and was transferred permanently to the Winter Olympic Games program in 1924, in France. The women's tournament was first held at the 1998 Winter Olympics. The Olympic Games were originally intended for Amateur sports, amateur athletes. However, the advent of the state-sponsored "full-time amateur athlete" of the Eastern Bloc countries further eroded the ideology of the pure amateur, as it put the self-financed amateurs of the Western countries at a disadvantage. Krugersdorp (Afrikaans for ''Kruger's Town'') is a mining city in the West Rand, Gauteng Province, South Africa founded in 1887 by Marthinus Pretorius and Abner Cohen.
