Tsubasacon
Tsubasacon is a three-day anime convention held on a weekend during the fall. Tsubasacon is also the first anime convention to be held in West Virginia. The convention's name is a blend of the words ''tsubasa'' (Japanese for ''wings'') and ''convention''. Programming Like most anime conventions, Tsubasacon provides a wide variety of programming for its patrons: * Viewing rooms dedicated to non-stop anime and live action films. * Workshops and "panels" including study abroad adverts, cosplay creation, martial arts demonstrations, specific anime / genre panels, and industry Q&A sessions. An anime convention is an event or gathering with a primary focus on anime, manga and Japanese culture. Commonly, anime conventions are multi-day events hosted at convention centers, hotels or college campuses. They feature a wide variety of activities and panels, with a larger number of attendees participating in cosplay than most other types of fan conventions. Anime conventions are also used as a vehicle for industry, in which studios, distributors, and publishers represent their anime related releases. Lisa Furukawa (古川梨沙 ''Furukawa Risa'', born January 25, 1976, Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese American pianist, singer, arranger, and songwriter based in Seattle, Washington. Newtype USA
is a monthly magazine publication originating from Japan, covering anime (and to a lesser extent, tokusatsu, manga, Japanese science fiction, seiyuu, and video games). It was launched by publishing company Kadokawa Shoten on March 8, 1985, with its April issue, and has since seen regular release on the 10th of every month in its home country. ''Newtype Korea'' is published in Korea. David L. Williams, sometimes referred to by his initials, DLW, is an American producer and ADR director (and, occasionally, a voice actor) that has been with ADV Films from the beginning when his living room was used as a production facility for their first show, ''Devil Hunter Yohko''.
