Trump Administration HHS Gender Dysphoria Report
''Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: Review of Evidence and Best Practices'' is a report published on May 1, 2025, by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It was produced at the direction of President Donald Trump's Executive Order 14187 which explicitly called for limiting access to gender-affirming care for young people. The report was characterized by the American Academy of Pediatrics as "misrepresent ngthe current medical consensus". As of August 2025, HHS has not disclosed who wrote and reviewed the report, stating in its press release that "Names of the contributors to the review are not initially being made public, in order to help maintain the integrity of this process." HHS has referred to its authors as "eight scholars including doctors, ethicists and a methodologist who represent a wide range of political viewpoints". Jesse Singal is an American journalist. He has written for publications including ''New York'' magazine, ''The New York Times'' and ''The Atlantic''. Society For Evidence-Based Gender Medicine
The Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine (SEGM) is a non-profit organization that is known for its opposition to gender-affirming care for transgender youth and for engaging in political lobbying. SEGM is known for transgender health care misinformation. It has falsely claimed that the majority of transgender children desist, argued that gender exploratory therapy should be the first line treatment for those under 25, and promoted the scientifically unsupported theory of Rapid-onset gender dysphoria. Cass Review
The Independent Review of Gender Identity Services for Children and Young People (commonly, the Cass Review) was commissioned in 2020 by NHS England and NHS Improvement and led by Hilary Cass, a retired consultant paediatrician and the former president of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health. It dealt with gender services for children and young people, including transgender youth and Gender dysphoria in children, those with gender dysphoria in England. The final report was published on 10 April 2024, and it was endorsed by both the Conservative Party (UK), Conservative and Labour Party (UK), Labour parties though LGBT+ Labour criticised it. Kenneth J. Zucker (; born 1950) is an American-Canadian psychologist and sexologist known for the living in your own skin model, a form of conversion therapy targeted towards pre-pubertal children with the goal of making their gender identity reflect their assigned gender at birth and preventing them from growing up transgender. Puberty blockers (also called puberty inhibitors or hormone blockers) are medicines used to postpone puberty in children.
