Troy Roberts (born September 9, 1962) is an American television news reporter and correspondent for '' 48 Hours Mystery''. Biography Roberts was born on September 9, 1962, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor's degree in Political Science in 1984. Roberts lives in New York City. Career From 1985 to 1987, Roberts worked as a host and producer of a weekly newsmagazine show at KPIX-TV, a San Francisco-based, CBS-owned television company. From 1987 to 1990, he was a reporter for Portland-based KATU-TV. In 1990, he moved to New York to work at CBS-owned station WCBS-TV, reporting for Channel 2's ''This Morning'' and anchoring local news segments for ''CBS Morning News''. Troy Roberts (soccer)
Troy Roberts (born September 18, 1983) is an American former soccer player. Career College and amateur Roberts attended Washington High School in Fremont, California, and played college soccer at UC Berkeley, and was named All-Pac-10 his junior and senior seasons. He also played in the National Premier Soccer League with Sonoma County Sol in its inaugural season in 2004. Professional Roberts was drafted in the first round (8th overall) in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft by Los Angeles Galaxy, and although he saw limited action with the team in his rookie season, went on to play 61 games in his four years with the club, winning both the MLS Cup and the US Open Cup in 2005. Roberts was waived by Galaxy in February 2009, and joined the Cleveland City Stars of the USL First Division in April 2009. Troy Roberts is an Australian-born jazz saxophonist, composer, and educator based in New York City. He is a three-time Grammy-nominated artist and has released sixteen albums as a bandleader. Roberts has performed and recorded with numerous prominent jazz musicians, including Joey DeFrancesco, Jeff "Tain" Watts, Kurt Elling, and Van Morrison. Early life and education Roberts was born in Perth, Western Australia. He began his formal music education at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), where he was accepted at the age of 15. He completed a Bachelor of Music with honors in 2001.
