The Troubles were an ethno-nationalist conflict in Northern Ireland during the late 20th century. The term had earlier been used to describe the Irish revolutionary period in the early twentieth century, especially the The Troubles in Ulster (1920–1922), period of conflict in Ulster in the early 1920s. Troubles
The Troubles () were an ethno-nationalist conflict in Northern Ireland that lasted for about 30 years from the late 1960s to 1998. Also known internationally as the Northern Ireland conflict, it began in the late 1960s and is usually deemed to have ended with the Good Friday Agreement of 1998. Although the Troubles mostly took place in Northern Ireland, at times violence spilled over into parts of the Republic of Ireland, England, and mainland Europe. Sometimes described as an asymmetric or irregular war or a low-intensity conflict, the Troubles were a political and nationalistic struggle fueled by historical events, with a strong ethnic and sectarian dimension, fought over the status of Northern Ireland. ''Haven'' is a supernatural drama television series developed by Jim Dunn and Sam Ernst, loosely based on the Stephen King novel ''The Colorado Kid'' (2005). The series, which deals with strange events in a fictional town in Maine named Haven, was filmed on the South Shore of Nova Scotia, and is an American-Canadian co-production. ''The Troubles'' is the seventeenth album by Irish folk and rebel band The Wolfe Tones. The album's title and songs are related to The Troubles in Northern Ireland. ''Songs in A Minor'' is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Alicia Keys. It was released on June 26, 2001, by J Records. Ian Charleson (11 August 1949 – 6 January 1990) was a Scottish stage and film actor. He is best known internationally for his starring role as Olympic athlete and missionary Eric Liddell in the Academy Award, Oscar-winning 1981 film ''Chariots of Fire''. Hope of the States are an English post rock-influenced indie band, formed in Chichester in 2000. Following the release of 2 albums, the band split up in 2006 before reuniting in 2024.
