Trophée Métropole Nice Côte D'Azur
The Trophée Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur is an annual figure skating competition sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU), organized and hosted by the French Federation of Ice Sports () and the Nice Baie des Anges Association at the Palais des sports Jean-Bouin in Nice, France. Originally known as the International Cup of Nice (), it was held from 1995 to 2017; and then returned in 2021 with its new name. In 2024, it became part of the ISU Challenger Series. Medals may be awarded in men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance at the senior and junior levels; and as part of the Challenger Series, skaters earn ISU World Standing points based on their results. Adam Siao Him Fa of France holds the record for winning the most titles in men's singles (with three), while Viktória Pavuk of Hungary, Léa Serna of France, and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva of Russia are tied for winning the most titles in women's singles (with two each). Many international and national figure skating competitions are organized yearly. The three levels of ISU international competition are senior, junior, and advanced novice. Non-elite skaters may also compete in 'Adult' competitions. Alexander Viktorovich Smirnov (; born 11 October 1984) is a Russian retired pair skater. Smirnov teamed up with Yuko Kavaguti in May 2006. They are two-time European Figure Skating Championships, European champions (2010, 2015), two-time World Figure Skating Championships, World bronze medalists (2009, 2010), two-time Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, ISU Grand Prix Final bronze medalists (11–12 and 15–16), and three-time Russian Figure Skating Championships, Russian national champions (2008–2010). Samuel Contesti (born 4 March 1983) is a French-Italian former competitive figure skater. He originally competed for France, then switched to Italy after the 2006–07 season. He is the 2009 European silver medalist and a five-time Italian national champion (2008–12). Personal life Samuel Contesti's father, Yves, was a professional football player in Ligue 1. He has two older sisters. Contesti married Géraldine Zulini in February 2007 and their son, Ennio, was born in June 2009. Their second child was born in 2012. Konstantin Alexandrovich Menshov (; born 23 February 1983) is a Russian former competitive figure skater. He is the 2014 European bronze medalist, the 2015 Finlandia Trophy champion, a two-time (2010, 2012) Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist, a two-time (2007, 2012) NRW Trophy champion, and the 2011 Russian national champion. Menshov is one of the skaters to have landed two quad jumps in a short program and three quad jumps in a free program. Single skating is a discipline of figure skating in which male and female skaters compete individually. Men's singles and women's singles are governed by the International Skating Union (ISU).
