Tanio Boccia
Camillo Tanio Boccia (15 June 1911 – 12 March 1982), was an Italian film director and screenwriter active between the 1950s and the early 1970s. From 1960 onwards, he was regularly credited as Amerigo Anton. Career Born in Potenza, Basilicata, he started as a dancer and choreographer in Rome in the 1930s, later moving on to act in regional, dialectal stage plays. He had a small role in ''Variety Lights'' (1951) by Alberto Lattuada and Federico Fellini, his first and sole performance as a film actor. Boccia directed 20 low-budget films in his career. He is best known for his work in the adventure film genre, particularly Peplum (film genre), peplum, in the early 1960s with films such as ''Caesar the Conqueror'' (1962), ''Samson Against the Pirates'' (1963) and ''Hercules of the Desert ''(1964). Carla Calò
Carla Calò (21 September 1926 – 29 December 2019) was an Italian actress. Life and career Born in Palermo, Calò started her career on stage, notably starring in Luigi Squarzina's ''Il berretto a sonagli'', and also being active in dialectal theatre and avanspettacolo. She made her film debut in 1949, in Carlo Ludovico Bragaglia's ''Il falco rosso''. During the early part of her film career Calò played several main roles, then, from the second half of the 1950s, she became one of the most active character actresses in Italian cinema. She was sometimes credited as Carrol Brown. Calò died in December 2019 at the age of 93. Maciste () is one of the oldest recurring characters of cinema, created by Gabriele d'Annunzio and Giovanni Pastrone. He is featured throughout the history of the cinema of Italy from the 1910s to the mid-1960s. He is usually depicted as a Hercules-like figure, utilizing his massive strength to achieve heroic feats that ordinary men cannot. Kirk Morris (born 26 August 1942) is an Italian bodybuilder and actor, best known for his work in sword-and-sandal films. Life and career Born in Venice as Adriano Bellini, while at university Morris devoted himself to bodybuilding and thanks to his physique he was chosen by the director Tanio Boccia to play the title role in '' The Triumph of Maciste''. Giulio Donnini (17 February 1923 – 22 May 2001) was an Italian film actor. Life and career Born in Milan, Donnini made his film debut in 1946, in Giacomo Gentilomo's ''Teheran''. He got his first mayor role two years later, playing the epileptic murderer Smerdjakov in Gentilomo's ''The Brothers Karamazov''. From then Donnini specialized in playing negative and often violent characters, being mainly cast in supporting roles. He was also very active on stage.
