Rizzle Kicks
Rizzle Kicks are a British hip-hop duo from Brighton, England, consisting of Jordan "Rizzle" Stephens (born 25 January 1992) and Harley "Sylvester" Alexander-Sule (born 1991). Their debut album, '' Stereo Typical'', was released in 2011. As of May 2012, Rizzle Kicks had sold over one million singles and over 600,000 albums in the UK. Since 2015, Alexander-Sule has released music under the stage name Jimi Charles Moody, and since 2016, Stephens has released music under the stage names Wildhood and Al, the Native, as well as under his own name. ''Stereo Typical'' is the debut studio album by English hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks. The album was released on 28 October 2011 through Universal Music Group and was met with generally positive reviews. Singles * "Prophet (Better Watch It)" was released as the album's first official single on 14 May 2011. Although being released to radio two months prior, the single was unsuccessful, did not chart, and was quickly succeeded. The music video for the track was filmed on Brighton beach, and features a number of scenes in which the duo become warped between the scene and a series of neon lights. * " Down with the Trumpets" was released as the album's second single on 10 June 2011. A demo version of the track was released via YouTube in 2010, however, this was removed when the track was officially released. Alternative Hip Hop
Alternative hip-hop (also known as alternative rap and experimental hip-hop) is a subgenre of hip-hop music that encompasses a wide range of styles that are not typically identified as mainstream. AllMusic defines it as comprising "hip-hop groups that refuse to conform to any of the traditional stereotypes of rap, such as gangsta, bass, hardcore, and party rap. Anthony Whiting better known as Ant Whiting is a British songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer signed to Sony/ATV Music Publishing. He has worked as a producer and songwriter with artists such as John Newman and Rizzle Kicks. Biography Whiting began his production and writing career with two tracks on MIA's debut album '' Arular'', including the singles " Fire Fire" & " Bingo." "Mama Do the Hump" is the third official single taken from British hip hop duo Rizzle Kicks' debut studio album, ''Stereo Typical'' (2011). The single was released in the United Kingdom on 16 December 2011. The track was produced by Fatboy Slim. The song incorporates a sample of Craig McLachlan's 1990 cover of "Mona (I Need You Baby)", originally recorded by Bo Diddley and an interpolation of "Reunion" by Bobbie Gentry. It peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart on 22 January 2012, held off the top spot by Jessie J's "Domino". It contains uncredited vocals from MNEK, who performs the chorus. The song was the 17th best-selling single of 2012 in the UK with sales of 559,000 for the year.
