Transport In Lahore
There are several modes of transport available in Lahore. Rickshaw and taxi Radio cab services Uber and Careem have been introduced by some private companies. However these taxis need to be booked in advance by booking on apps and calling their number. Auto rickshaws play an important role of public transport in Lahore. There are 246,458 auto rickshaws, often simply called ''autos'', in the city. Since 2002, all auto rickshaws have been required to use CNG as fuel. Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is responsible for new planned development in Lahore, Pakistan. It also regulates and issues permits for new construction and housing projects, private houses, commercial development and remodels. It also controls zoning laws. Lahore Metro is an automated rapid transit system in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan and the first driverless metro in Pakistan. Four metro lines have been proposed, of which the Orange Line is operational. It is also Pakistan's first metro line system. History The Lahore Metro was first proposed in 1991 and reviewed in 1993 by the ''Lahore Traffic & Transport Studies'', funded by the World Bank.
