Trance
Trance is a state of semi-consciousness in which a person is not self-aware and is either altogether unresponsive to external stimuli (but nevertheless capable of pursuing and realizing an aim) or is selectively responsive in following the directions of the person (if any) who has induced the trance. Trance states may occur involuntarily and unbidden. The term ''trance'' may be associated with hypnosis, meditation, magic, flow, prayer, psychedelic drugs, and altered states of consciousness. Etymology Trance in its modern meaning comes from an earlier meaning of "a dazed, half-conscious or insensible condition or state of fear", via the Old French ''transe'' "fear of evil", from the -4; we might wonder whether there's a point at which it's appropriate to talk of the beginnings of French, that is, when it wa ... There is restlessness and calm, tempestuousness and serenity, conflict and resolution, and—above all—creativity and vision."Jurek, T

In computing, Quark is an operating system kernel used in MorphOS. It is a microkernel designed to run fully virtualized computers, called ''boxes'' (see sandbox). , only one ''box'' is available, the ''ABox'', that lets users run extant AmigaOS software compiled for Motorola 68000 series (MC680x0 or 68k) and PowerPC central processing units (CPUs). Design goals The Quark microkernel is not a member of the L4 microkernel family, but borrows concepts from it, including: the ''clan'' (group of tasks), ID concept, and recursive address mapping. Quark also has an asynchronous/synchronous message interface similar to Amiga's Exec kernel but adapted to an environment with memory protection. Standing Stone (album)
''Standing Stone'' is Paul McCartney's second full-length release of original classical music (coming after 1991's ''Liverpool Oratorio''), although he defined it as orchestral music. It was issued shortly after the release of ''Flaming Pie''. The world premiere performance was held at The Royal Albert Hall on 14 October 1997. History Following up on 1991's '' Paul McCartney's Liverpool Oratorio'', the ''Standing Stone'' project was composed out of a long poem McCartney authored to describe the way Celtic man might have wondered about the origins of life and the mystery of existence. McCartney composed the work as a commission from Richard Lyttleton, the then president of EMI Classics, to celebrate EMI's centenary. Unlike ''Liverpool Oratorio'', the project was not an operatic performance of a story, but an instrumental one, though employing the use of a choir. For the first time in his career, McCartney used a personal computer and software to help compose. The work was record ...

Trance (song)
"Trance" is a song by American record producer Metro Boomin and American rappers Travis Scott and Young Thug, from Metro's second studio album ''Heroes & Villains'' (2022). It was produced by Metro Boomin and Allen Ritter, with violin performances from Peter Lee Johnson. Critical reception The song was met with a generally mixed to negative reception. Its production has been criticized; Charles Lyons-Burt of ''Slant Magazine'' wrote, "Metro is often just going about recycling what's worked on tracks that he's produced in the past, as with the sad-sack fiddle that he layers over the top of 'Trance'—the exact same one that he used on '' Savage Mode II'''s " Rich Nigga Shit," which similarly featured Young Thug." Similarly, Hamza Riaz of ''Mic Cheque'' described the production in ''Heroes & Villains'' as "the most skeletal we've ever heard Metro, excessively subdued in songs like 'Trance'". ''Uproxx'''s Wongo Okon commented that the gloom in the song "foreshadows the danger that lu ...
