The Gera tramway network is a transport network, network of tramways forming part of the public transport system in Gera, a city in the States of Germany, federal state of Thuringia, Germany. Opened in 1883, the network is operated by Geraer Verkehrsbetrieb GmbH (GVB), and integrated in the Verkehrsverbund Mittelthüringen (VMT). Lines , the network consisted of the following lines: During peak times, line 1 operates at 10-minute intervals, line 2 20 minutes, and line 3 Monday-Friday 5 minutes (7½ minutes on holidays), 10 minutes at weekends. Off peak only lines 1 and 3 run at 30-minute intervals. In the evenings only line 3 runs, taking 70 minutes for a return trip. Tatra KT4
Tatra KT4 is the name of a GT4 (tram), four-axle type articulated tramcar developed by the Czech firm ČKD Tatra. The first pre-production vehicles entered service in Potsdam in 1975, with the first production vehicles in 1977. A total of 1,747 units were built, with initial deliveries to DDR (state), East Germany (DDR) and later to USSR, the USSR and SFR Yugoslavia. KT4 variants were built for both standard gauge and metre gauge tramways. Production of the KT4 tramcar was halted in 1991 due to Fall of communism, worldwide economic and political changes at the time. The Verkehrsverbund Mittelthüringen (VMT) is a transport association in central Thuringia, Germany. It comprises the cities of Erfurt, Weimar, Jena, and Gera, as well as parts of the districts of Weimarer Land, Sömmerda, Gotha, Ilm-Kreis, Saale-Holzland-Kreis, and Burgenlandkreis.
