Trail's End Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
Trail's End is a brand of Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. It is distributed exclusively by Hood River Distillers. Process Trail's End is aged in new charred white oak barrels for eight years or ten years in Kentucky. It is made with a traditional mash bill of corn, malted barley and approximately 10% rye. Once in Oregon, it is steeped with Oregon oak, then finished with glacier-fed spring water from Mount Hood and bottled at 90 proof. Trail's End is non-chill filtered. San Francisco World Spirits Competition
The San Francisco World Spirits Competition was founded in 2001 by Anthony Dias Blue as an off-shoot of the San Francisco International Wine Competition. It assesses hundreds of entrants annually (1,407 in 2013 from 63 countries) with tastings involving panels of expert judges selected each year from the spirits industry including mixologists, spirits buyers, and media from across the United States. Producers must submit their product for the competition and pay a fee ($475 for 2013) for its evaluation. Not all entries are given awards (those not judged of sufficient quality are not given an award) but most receive a bronze, silver, or gold award from the tasting panel. Hood River is a city in and the county seat of Hood River County, Oregon, United States. It is a port on the Columbia River, and is named for the nearby Hood River.
