Toughie (frog)
Toughie was the last known living Rabbs' fringe-limbed treefrog. The species, scientifically known as ''Ecnomiohyla rabborum'', is thought to be extinct, as the last specimen—Toughie—died in captivity on September 26, 2016. Captivity Toughie was captured as an adult in Panama in 2005, when researchers went on a conservation mission to rescue species from '' Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis'', a fungus deadly to amphibians. Toughie was one of "several dozen" frogs and tadpoles of the same species to be transported back to the United States. Toughie lived at the Atlanta Botanical Garden in Georgia. At the Garden, he was placed in a special containment area called the "frogPOD", a biosecure enclosure. Visitors to the Garden are not allowed to visit the frogPOD, as it is used to house critically endangered animals. Toughie Brasuhn
Marjorie Clair Louise Theresa Brasuhn Monte (January 27, 1923 – 9 August 1971), known as Midge "Toughie" Brasuhn, was a roller derby skater. Born in St Louis, Missouri, to a German-American family, Brasuhn acquired the nickname "Midge" as a child by virtue of her height - only 4'11".Herb Michelson, ''A Very Simple Game'' She joined the roller derby in 1941, in Minneapolis,"Roller Derby Star Dies", '' Daily Herald'', August 25, 1971, section 2, page 1 and soon married Ken Monte, a fellow skater. Grasshopper Island
Grasshopper Island is a British television serial for children created by Joy Whitby. It was first broadcast in 1971. It was filmed on location in London, Milford Haven and Corsica. Premise The series centres on three brothers, nicknamed Toughy (wants to be a soldier), Smarty (clever), and Mouse (likes cheese). Their real names are not revealed. Presumably orphaned (their parents are never seen or mentioned), they have lived with a succession of different people – 'some nice and some nasty, but no-one who they liked in particular'. Being boisterous, adventurous and imaginative, they are regularly in trouble and consequently resent their situation. Eventually they decide to run away to sea. After escaping, they hitch a ride courtesy of the bizarre Elderly Boy in his converted lifeboat. They eventually arrive on an apparently uninhabited island, where the Elderly Boy abandons them, and they set up home.
