Touch-and-go Landing
In aviation, a touch-and-go landing (TGL) or circuit and bump is a maneuver that is common when learning to fly a fixed-wing aircraft. It involves landing on a runway and takeoff, taking off again without coming to a full stop. Usually the pilot then circles the airport in a defined pattern known as a Airfield traffic pattern, circuit and repeats the maneuver. This allows many landings to be practiced in a short time. If the pilot brings the aircraft to a full stop before taking off again, it is known as a "stop-and-go". If the aircraft's wheels do not touch the ground, it is known as a "low pass". Both a touch-and-go landing and a low pass are types of go-around. An unplanned touch-and-go landing is also called a "rejected landing" or "balked landing". Touch-and-go landings can perform a crucial safety role when a plane lands with not enough space to come to a complete stop, but has enough space to accelerate and take off again. Standard procedure In a normal landing, the pil ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Ocasek said of Easton's guitar solo, "Elliot came into the studio one day during the sessions with the solo for 'Touch and Go' on a cassette. No music, just the solo. He'd recorded it by himself in his hotel room. When we put the solo on top of the track, it sounded great. Easton said of his solo, "That solo o ... Touch And Go Records
Touch and Go Records is an American independent record label based in Chicago, Illinois. After its genesis as a handmade fanzine in 1979, it grew into one of the key record labels in the American 1980s underground and alternative rock scenes. Touch and Go carved out a reputation for releasing adventurous noise rock by the likes of Big Black, the Butthole Surfers, and The Jesus Lizard. Touch and Go helped to spearhead the nationwide network of underground bands that formed the pre-Nirvana indie rock scene, and helped preside over the shift from the hardcore punk that then dominated the American underground scene to the more diverse styles of alternative rock emerging at the time. History The zine was formed in 1979 in East Lansing, Michigan as Touch and Go magazine, a self-printed fanzine written and produced by Tesco Vee and Dave Stimson. It wasn't until 1981 that it grew into an independent record label. Vee (later front man of The Meatmen) was bored with the punk sounds of t ... Touch And Go (album)
''Touch and Go'' is the third album by the American vocal group Force M.D.'s, released in 1987. " Love Is a House" was the first single; "Couldn't Care Less" was also released. The group supported the album by playing shows with Madonna and Alexander O'Neal. Production Nine producers contributed to the recording of ''Touch and Go'', which was marked by a more mainstream sound. Force M.D.'s felt they were known primarily for their ballads, so the group made sure that some dance tracks were included on the album. "Would You Love Me?" was influenced by go-go music and rap. The title track was written by Victor Bailey. Critical reception The ''Los Angeles Times'' wrote that, "on the whole, the gooey, studio-crafted music on the third album by the New York quartet is so far removed from the street that even the silkiest smooth singing is undermined... Occasional attempts at incorporating hip-hop styles into the arrangements sound gratuitous and gimmicky." ''The Christian Science Mo ...
