Toppen Af Poppen
''Toppen af Poppen'' is a Danish reality television series broadcast on Danish television station TV 2 as part of '' The Best Singers'' series and is based on the Dutch series ''De beste zangers van Nederland''. Ten seasons have been broadcast thus far with the inaugural series launched on 7 February 2011. Season 1 The first Danish season of ''Toppen af Poppen'' included the following artists: Erann DD, Lars H.U.G., Szhirley, Dorthe Kollo, Anna David and Jokeren. On 18 March 2011, a compilation album entitled ''Toppen af Poppen'' was released including some of the best performances from the series reaching #4 on the Danish Albums Chart. Season 2 Due to the huge popularity of the first series, a second series was launched the same year and started on 23 August 2011 also on TV 2. On 3 October 2011, a compilation album of best performances was released under the title ''Toppen af Poppen 2'' reaching the top of the Danish Albums Chart. Wafande Pierre Jolivel Zahor (born 21 January 1983), better known by his mononym Wafande, is a Danish singer and songwriter of African-French descent, in the field of reggae, soul and urban-hit tunes and is a true influencer in the nature of the word. These factors are reflected in his music and personality and have made him famous in Denmark. He is signed to Universal Music. Life He grew up in Freetown Christiania, a neighborhood in Copenhagen, Denmark. Wafande moved with his family to France when he was 8 years old. Marc Kwabena Johnson (born 1979), better known as Johnson, is a Danish rapper. Previously he was known as NiggerenISlæden (alias N.I.S.). Before his solo career, he was a member of the band B.A.N.G.E.R.S. and J.A.Z. and has collaborated with many Danish hip hop artists. Career Johnson was born in Svendborg to a Ghanaian father and a Danish mother. After his father's death, he moved to live with his mother and half sister, singer Zindy Laursen to Åbyhøj, Aarhus, where he grew up. Benedicte Westergaard Madsen better known as Dicte (born in Glostrup, Denmark on 9 September 1966) is a Danish musician and songwriter. Madsen started playing at a young age singing her own compositions starting 1983. She was also a great fan of Janis Joplin and included Joplin songs in her repertoire. She joined the band Farandola based in Viborg, Denmark. In band Her Personal Pain In 1987 she moved to Aarhus playing in various formations before forming her own band called Her Personal Pain in 1989. She also took part in many music talent competitions. Nabiha Bensouda is a Danish singer-songwriter. Career ”Deep Sleep", the first single from the album peaked as 4 on the Danish Tracklisten Singles Chart and was certified gold. Peter Belli
Peter Belli (born Georg Peter Brandt; 19 June 1943 – 8 June 2023) was a German-born Danish singer and actor. Career Belli's debut as a singer was in 1959, for a band called ''Trefters''. In the 1960s, he became Denmark's first rock star, alongside his band, ''Les Rivals'', warming up for such greats as The Rolling Stones and The Beatles. In the 1970s, Belli transitioned to doing more dansktop, having several hits such as ''Bliv væk fra vort kvarter'' and ''Ingen regning''. In the same period, he started acting in a number of Danish movies. In 1981 he had a hit with "Hvis det er sandt" from his same year album "Er det sådan?". It was a Danish version of Billy Joel's You May Be Right. In the late 1980s Belli returned to his rock roots, having great success with his ''Yeah'' album.
