Tony Hendrik
Tony Hendrik (born Dieter Lünstedt, 4 March 1945 in Bad Bederkesa, a.k.a. Dee Dee Halligan, Jimmy Tarsus) is a German music producer, composer, and owner of a record label. The most known artists and bands he has produced and composed for are Bad Boys Blue, Londonbeat, and Haddaway. Hendrik co-wrote the Haddaway song "What Is Love." Biography Tony Hendrik was born in Bad Bederkesa in 1945. He graduated from a high school in Rendsburg and initially founded a beat band named "Hendrik & The Luniks" that performed at Hamburg's Star-Club. In 1966, he left his hometown to study in Cologne. There he started a new band "The Tony Hendrik Five". By 1970, Tony won his first success with the group—single "The Grooviest Girl in the World" became his first bestseller. He subsequently worked for the German branch of the record label Vogue where he began producing. Bad Bederkesa
Bad Bederkesa (Low German: ''Beers'') is a village and a former municipality in the district of Cuxhaven, in Lower Saxony, Germany. Since 1 January 2015 it is part of the town of Geestland. It is situated approximately 20 km northeast of Bremerhaven, and 30 km southeast of Cuxhaven. A La Carte was a Pop music, pop-disco girl group formed in 1978, and based in Germany. Producers Tony Hendrik and Karin Hartmann helped with the start up of the group. The trio originally included three British girls: Patsy Fuller, Julia and Elaine. Their first song was ''When the Boys Come Home'', released in March 1979. With a performance in the Musikladen TV show, the group gained immense popularity in Germany. For unknown reasons, the line-ups often changed with the release of new singles. Jenny Renshaw became the only permanent member when she joined the group in October 1979. By 1981, the group was made up of Jenny Renshaw, Linda Daniels and Joy Martin. Together, they released the album ''Viva''. The group underwent many more line-up changes afterwards also. Soultans
Soultans is an all-male R&B band notable predominantly in Europe, but also for signing on for a short contract with BMG. The Soultans originally consisted of three members and is based in Germany, although two of its members have English ties. The group resides under the German label, Coconut Records, which has also kick-started other small bands' careers. The lead vocalist, Marvin Broadie, and musician Marco Boi, were later replaced by Sascha van Haasen and Mike Marshall in 2002. Although the band suggested its inspirations as 1970's music, Soultans has added elements of hip hop, jazz and soul to their music, following in the lines of Londonbeat, another English band.
