Sidney Matthew Sweet (born October 6, 1964) is an American alternative rock/ power pop singer-songwriter and musician who was part of the burgeoning music scene in Athens, Georgia, during the 1980s before gaining commercial success in the 1990s as a solo artist. His companion albums, ''Tomorrow Forever'' and '' Tomorrow's Daughter'', were followed by 2018's ''Wicked System of Things'' and 2021's '' Catspaw'', his 15th studio effort. Early life, family, and education Sweet was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Southeast High School in Lincoln, in 1983. Upon graduation he moved to Athens, Georgia to attend college. Tomorrow Forever
''Tomorrow Forever'' is the twelfth album by alternative rock musician Matthew Sweet, funded wholly by his fans through the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. It was released on June 16, 2017 as a digital download, CD, and as a 2- LP vinyl set. Production The album was funded by a Kickstarter campaign, which ran from June 27 – July 27, 2014. The album's expected April 2015 release date was delayed to June 2017. Sweet originally recorded 38 songs, and cut this down to 17 for the final album, which was the reason for the delay in release. Twelve of the remaining 21 tracks were released in a bonus demo album (''Tomorrow's Daughter''), sent exclusively to backers of the campaign on Kickstarter, and intended for official release at a later date. Alternative rock (also known as alternative music, alt-rock or simply alternative) is a category of rock music that evolved from the independent music underground of the 1970s.
