Tom Sweetman
Charles Herbert Sweatman (29 July 1873 – 11 June 1915) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton Football Club, Carlton in the Australian Football League, Victorian Football League (VFL). Football He played 30 games over three seasons with Carlton. As was the case with another Carlton footballer, George Warde (footballer), George Henry Ward (1876–1934), whose family name is mistakenly identified in all official contemporary VFL records as "Warde", Sweatman is mistakenly identified in all contemporary VFL records as "Tom Sweetman", Both of these were clerical errors. On 1 May 1900 "C.H. Sweatman" was granted a clearance from Carlton to Essendon Association Football Club, Essendon Town. On 22 May 1905, "C.H. Sweetman" was granted a clearance from Essendon Town to the Boulder City Football Club in the Goldfields Football League in Western Australia. In June 1908, "C. Echuca ( ) is a town on the banks of the Murray River and Campaspe River in Victoria, Australia. The border town of Moama is adjacent on the northern side of the Murray River in New South Wales. George Warde (footballer)
George Henry Ward (10 October 1876 – 29 September 1934) — all official contemporary VFL records, mistakenly, recorded his family name as "Warde" — was an Australian rules footballer who played 17 games for Carlton in the VFL in 1898 and kicked two goals. Family name As is the case with another Carlton footballer, Charles Herbert Sweatman (1873–1915), who is mistakenly identified in all contemporary VFL records as "Tom Sweetman", all official contemporary VFL records mistakenly recorded Ward's family name as "Warde". Brighton Football Club
Brighton Football Club was an Australian rules football club which played in the Victorian Football Association (VFA). The club was based in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton, and was nicknamed the Penguins. After suffering financial hardship throughout the 1950s, Brighton moved to Caulfield and became the Caulfield Bears in the early to mid-1960s. History An advertisement in '' The Argus'' on 8 June 1859 announced a meeting to be held on the 9th of that month, at the Devonshire Hotel, to form the Brighton Football Club.
