Thomas Andrew Perry (born 22 February 1993) is a British speedway and grasstrack rider. Albrighton, Shrewsbury
Albrighton is a small village in the civil parish of Pimhill, in Shropshire, England. It is situated on the A528 road, A528 Shrewsbury-Ellesmere, Shropshire, Ellesmere road and is roughly north of Shrewsbury. After a history of being its own parish, it currently lies in the parish of Pimhill. Motorcycle speedway, usually referred to simply as speedway, is a motorcycle sport involving four and sometimes up to six riders competing over four clockwise, anti-clockwise laps of an oval circuit. The motorcycles are specialist machines that use only one gear and have no brakes. Racing takes place on a flat oval track usually consisting of soil, dirt, loosely packed shale, or crushed rock (mostly used in Australia and New Zealand). Loomer Road Stadium
Loomer Road Stadium was a sports stadium situated in Chesterton, Staffordshire from c.1970 to 2019. The building had considerable parking facilities, covered terracing and a bar with a view of the track. The stadium opened in 1973 and hosted greyhound racing until 2003, and speedway and stock cars until its closure at the end of the 2019 season. Origins Since 1912 the land south of Chesterton and north of Newcastle-under-Lyme has been dominated by the imposing Holditch colliery. The colliery was responsible for mining coal and ironstone creating a tangled web of railway lines, pits and an unused 18th century canal. In late 1971, Midlands' businessman Russell Bragg applied for and received planning permission from the Newcastle Borough Council for the construction of a new stadium in Chesterton at a cost of £200,000. 2015 National League Speedway Season
The 2015 National League was the seventh season of the National League, the third tier of British speedway. The Cradley Heathens were the defending champions after winning the competition in 2014. Cradley finished the 2015 season in third place, as the Birmingham Brummies won the championship title. With 14 wins from 18 matches, the Brummies won the title after a 47–42 victory at the Mildenhall Fen Tigers in September, and ultimately finished 6 points clear of the Eastbourne Eagles. Teams The 2015 season featured 10 teams, one more than in 2014. Brandon Stadium
Brandon Stadium, also known as Coventry Stadium, is located 6 miles east of Coventry in Brandon, Warwickshire, England. It was the home of the Coventry Bees motorcycle speedway team. It also hosted BriSCA F1 Stock Car Racing on the 1st Saturday of the month from April through to November. From 1978 until early 2016 it intermittently hosted greyhound racing. As of 2023, it is closed and has become dilapidated after several fires, including an arson attack in 2022. Speedway History Brandon Stadium's first speedway meeting took place on 29 September 1928, hot on the heels of Coventry's first speedway venue at Lythalls Lane Stadium. NDL Fours
The NDL Fours formerly the Conference League Four-Team Championship and National League Fours is an annual motorcycle speedway contest between teams competing in the third tier of speedway in the United Kingdom. Teams consisting of four riders from each team are placed in two qualifying groups, and one rider from each team competed in each race. The winners and second place of each group competed for the Championship in the final. In 2009, the Conference League Four-Team Championship was replaced by the National League Fours and then in 2019 the tournament became known as the National Development League Fours (NDL Fours) for short. The Elite League was the top division of Motorcycle speedway, speedway league competition in the United Kingdom, governed by the The Speedway Control Bureau, Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). It was founded in 1997 and was sponsored by Sky Sports until the end of the 2013 season. British Speedway Under 21 Championship
The British Speedway Under-21 Championship (also known as the British Junior Speedway Championship) is an annual speedway competition open to riders of British nationality aged at least fifteen on the date of the first meeting, and under twenty-one on 1 January in the year of the competition. The winner of the final is declared British Under-21 Champion. Previous winners include former World Champions Mark Loram and Gary Havelock. Format Sixteen riders plus three reserves take part in 20 heats with each rider facing each other once. The two riders which accumulate the highest number of points over the heats go straight to the final. The next four highest point scorers take part in a race-off, with first and second place riders also progressing to the final. The Premier League was the second tier of Motorcycle speedway, speedway in the United Kingdom (with the exception of the 1995 and 1996 seasons) and governed by The Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). The Premier League was founded in 1995 when the two divisions of the British League were amalgamated. In 1997, the Elite League (speedway), Elite League was created as a new top tier with the Premier League becoming the second tier.
